Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

This study analyzes the gastrointestinal microbiome of appendiceal cancer patients with peritoneal spread scheduled to undergo cytoreductive surgery with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS/HIPEC). Participants will provide fecal samples pre- and post-operatively.

Participation Criteria

Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Diagnosis of appendiceal cancer with peritoneal spread
  2. * Candidate for cytoreductive surgery with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS/HIPEC)
  3. * ≥18 and ≤ 80 years of age
  4. * Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status score of ≤2/Karnofsky performance status (KPS) ≥70%
  5. * Signed Institutional Review Board approved informed consent
  1. * \<18 years of age
  2. * Pregnant women
  3. * Concurrent severe medical problems unrelated to malignancy
