Retraining Reaching in Cerebellar Ataxia

Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

The purpose of this study is to test for benefits of reinforcement based training paradigm versus standard practice over weeks for improving reaching movements in people with ataxia.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:22 Years to 80 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Cerebellar damage from stroke, tumor or degeneration
  2. * Age 22-80
  1. * Clinical or MRI evidence of damage to extracerebellar brain (e.g. multiple system atrophy)
  2. * Extrapyramidal symptoms, peripheral vestibular loss, or sensory neuropathy
  3. * Dementia ( Mini-Mental State exam \> 22)
  4. * Pain that interferes with the tasks
  5. * Vision loss that interferes with the tasks
