Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:18 Years to 62 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Active Duty US Air Force pilots or onboard navigators, aged 18- 62 years of age
  2. * maintain operational flight status at enrollment or within the last 6 months
  3. * History of neck pain for a period of more than two months
  4. * Score on the Neck Disability Index ranging from 15-24
  5. * No physiotherapy or local injection in 3 months before starting the study
  1. * pregnant
  2. * major surgery or trauma in the previous 3 months
  3. * unstable cervical spine
  4. * cervical radiculopathy
  5. * rheumatoid arthritis
  6. * open wound over neck
  7. * pace-maker or defibrillator implantation
  8. * overt neuropathic pain or radiation pain
  9. * inability to express pain or quality of life.
  10. * history of neurological disorders
  11. * medical diagnosis of fibromyalgia; systemic disease
