This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

This research study aims to find out if a single oral dose of steroid after tonsillectomy will reduce pain and decrease the need for narcotic medications.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:3 Years to 12 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL

Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Age 3-12
  2. * Tonsillectomy with or without adenoidectomy for any indication
  3. * Outpatient (same day) surgery
  1. * Bleeding disorder
  2. * Intra-operative surgical or anesthetic complication or unplanned admission
  3. * Pre-operative steroid use (defined as any steroid use greater than three days duration within 30 days prior to tonsillectomy)
  4. * Pre-operative opioid use (defined as any opioid use within 30 days prior to tonsillectomy)
  5. * Inability of parent/guardian to be contacted by phone for follow up
  6. * Inability or unwillingness of subject or legal guardian/representative to give informed consent
