Pinhole Versus Tunnel for Soft Tissue Recession

Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

This is an assessor-blinded split-mouth randomized clinical study to compare root coverage and gingival tissue thickness following two different surgical procedures for non-autologous grafting: the pinhole surgical technique (PST) and tunnel technique.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:18 Years to 75 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:Yes
Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * between 18-75 years old
  2. * have at least one non-mobile tooth with Cairo class I gingival recession of 2 to 6 mm.
  3. * American Society of Anesthesiology class I and II
  4. * full mouth plaque score (FMPS) and full mouth bleeding score (FMBS) below 20%
  1. * sites of gingival recession around teeth that are non-salvageable
  2. * presence of any exudate, infection or local inflammation around the area to be grafted
  3. * pregnant or breastfeeding females
