Participation Criteria

Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL

Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * \>= 60 years of age
  2. * Patients undergoing general endotracheal anesthesia for surgery or invasive diagnostic procedures that are anticipated to be extubated immediately following the procedure
  1. * Age\<60 years of age
  2. * Patients with a tracheostomy in - situ (pre-existing or placed as part of the index procedure)
  3. * Patients undergoing cardiac surgical procedures
  4. * Patients undergoing general endotracheal anesthesia who are not anticipated to be extubated immediately following the surgical procedure
  5. * Patients with delayed extubations in the post anesthesia care unit or intensive care unit)
  6. * Patients undergoing TIVA (Total Intravenous Anaesthesia)
  7. * Patient with an initial room air SpO2\<93%
  8. * Patients with VADS (ventricular assist device) undergoing non-cardiac surgery
  9. * Thoracic surgical procedures
  10. * Patients on home oxygen
  11. * Patients getting general anesthesia with supraglottic airway
