Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

The Yoga for a Healthy Heart study will address various barriers to both medication management and blood pressure regulation for African American patients with hypertension.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:18 Years to 99 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Over 18
  2. * has transportation to South Pointe Hospital
  3. * Has the ability to walk, or use a wheelchair from the entrance of the building
  4. * Able to attend all 8 sessions
  5. * Diagnosis of hypertension
  6. * African American
  7. * Prescribed antihypertensive medication
  8. * Able to stand up from the chair independently
  9. * Able to walk to the bathroom independently with or without a device
  10. * Approved by cardiologist to participate
  1. * Unable to tolerate sitting for 1 hour
  2. * BP over 200/100
  3. * Unable to independently walk or use a wheelchair to the bathroom
