Description

The aim of this randomized trial is to assess the efficacy of EUS-CPB in the alleviation of abdominal pain in patients with chronic pancreatitis.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Age ≥ 18 years
  2. * Abdominal pain of at least 3 months duration and a VAS score ≥ 3, with or without the use of narcotic analgesics.
  3. * Diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis on EUS examination, with ≥ 5 features on EUS.
  4. * No other cause of abdominal pain
  1. * Age \< 18 years.
  2. * History of prior EUS-CPB.
  3. * Use of anticoagulants that cannot be discontinued for the procedure.
  4. * Clinically significant allergy to bupivacaine or triamcinolone.
  5. * Unable to obtain consent for the procedure from either the patient or LAR.
  6. * Intrauterine pregnancy.
