Enhancing Digitally Delivered Diabetes Education With Real-Time CGM

Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

The current research study will add continuous glucose monitoring devices to the evidence-based text messaging diabetes education program for patients with type 2 diabetes for 6 months. Results on the effectiveness of this intervention will be compared for non-insulin using patients.

Participation Criteria

Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes
  2. * Are not currently using a CGM
  3. * Are not using insulin therapies
  4. * Speak English, Spanish or Arabic
  5. * Have A1c between 7.5% and 12.0% in last 90 days
  6. * Have a cellphone that can receive/send text messages and counts steps
  1. * Are using insulin therapies
  2. * Are pregnant
  3. * Are currently using a CGM
  4. * Are currently participating in another diabetes-related study
