Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

Alcohol and cannabis are the most misused psychoactive substances in the United States. The proposed research examines how personally relevant stressful experiences may lead to alcohol and cannabis use. The proposed research is also designed to identify possible targets for prevention and treatment efforts to help reduce drug use.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:18 Years to 30 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:Yes
Standard Ages:ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Of Afro-descent
  2. * Proficient in English
  3. * Alcohol and/or cannabis use at least 2-3 times in the past month
  4. * Endorse having used alcohol and/or cannabis to cope
  1. * Having participated in similar studies by the research team
  2. * Obtain cut-off scores on scale items indicating possible loss of control and needing to cut down or quit alcohol and/or cannabis use
  3. * In or seeking treatment for alcohol and/or cannabis use disorder
