Title: A Multimodal Exercise Program With Gamification for Parkinson Disease (MEP+G)

Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

In this pilot study the research will explore whether exercises and the outcome measures would be acceptable to conduct a more detailed research study. This 8 week pilot study will utilize a comprehensive exercise program that includes non-contact boxing along with computerized games for individuals with Parkinson Disease.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:40 Years to 80 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Hoehn and Yahr stages 1-3 disease as determined by primary care physician, neurologist, or movement disorder specialist
  2. * diagnosis of idiopathic Parkinson's Disease
  3. * ability to ambulate with or without an assistive device
  4. * transportation to and from testing site
  5. * ability to stand unassisted for 10 minutes
  6. * stable on Parkinson's disease medications for 3 months as determined by physician
  7. * medical clearance by their PCP, neurologist, or movement disorder specialist to participate in a moderate to vigorous exercise program.
  1. * other neurological disease other than Parkinson's disease
  2. * having had deep brain stimulation within the past 3 months , as determined by their physician
  3. * currently participating in a Rock Steady boxing program
  4. * self-report participation in moderate to vigorous exercise greater than 60 minutes per week.
