Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

The goal of this clinical trial is to determine the effectiveness of using a freeze-dried wild blueberry powder on cardiometabolic health, cognitive function, and gut microbiota composition in adult women with prediabetes.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:45 Years to 65 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:FEMALE
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Women aged 45-65 years old.
  2. * Prediabetes (fasting blood glucose 100-125 mg/dL and/or HbA1c percentage between 5.7-6.4).
  3. * Body Mass Index between 25-30 kg/m\^2.
  1. * Allergies to berries.
  2. * Use of insulin, antidiabetic, antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory drugs.
  3. * Active cancer, gastrointestinal, renal, thyroid, stage 1 \& 2 hypertension, and other cardiovascular diseases, neurological diseases, or severe head injury.
  4. * Smoking.
  5. * Consumes greater than 2 alcoholic beverages per day.
  6. * Consumes antioxidant, probiotic, and prebiotic supplements.
  7. * Pregnant or Lactating
  8. * Actively participating in a weight loss program
  9. * Currently taking berry supplements or recently participated in another study taking berry supplements.
