Voiceitt for People With Impairments in Speech

Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

The primary objective of this pilot study is to evaluate the feasibility and preliminary effectiveness of the Voiceitt app in improving communication for individuals with speech impairments due to conditions such as cerebral palsy (CP), stroke, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), or Parkinson's disease.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:13 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:CHILD, ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Age 13 or older
  2. * moderately severe speech dysarthria due to conditions such as CP, stroke, ALS or Parkinson's Disease, etc.
  3. * Ability to understand and follow instructions for using the Voiceitt app.
  1. * Severe cognitive impairments that prevent the understanding of the Voiceitt app and required training.
  2. * Patients who have additional speech impairments other than dysarthria, such as significant aphasia or verbal apraxia.
  3. * Severe physical impairments that prevent interaction with the app.
  4. * Non-English speakers.
