Novel Cavity Marking Technique in Breast Cancer Patients Undergoing Breast Conservation Surgery With Oncoplastic Reconstruction for the Delivery of Adjuvant Radiotherapy and Accuracy of Recommended Re-excisions

This study will investigate a novel approach to marking surgical cavity margins following tumor resection, to allow for more accurate radiotherapy following oncoplastic surgery. Our proposed cavity marking schema will allow radiation oncology to identify the cavity margins more accurately on CT simulation for radiation planning and delivery. This cavity marking schema also provides more accurate margin identification in patients recommended for re-excision of close or positive margins.

A Bionic Breast Project Using Neuroprosthesis to Reduce Chronic Pain After Mastectomy

Nonlinear Elasticity Mapping of Breast Masses

This proposed technique, called "Nonlinear Elasticity Mapping (NEM)", is an innovative approach to estimate (i.e., linear and nonlinear) elasticity to provide complementary and relevant information for identification and characterization of breast masses. The proposed technique includes imaging the (nonlinear) elasticity parameter in a quantitative manner and measuring two new and relevant parameters. These parameters, together with linear elasticity, are used to differentiate breast masses. The first parameter is the nonlinearity of the elasticity.

A Dose Finding Phase 1 of Sarilumab Plus Capecitabine in HER2/Neu-Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer and a Single-arm, Historically-controlled Phase 2 Study of Sarilumab Plus Capecitabine in Stage I-III Triple Negative Breast Cancer With High-Risk Residual Disease (EMPOWER)

This study looks to advance a novel and potent strategy to eliminate minimal residual disease (MRD) in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) present even after multimodal treatment, thereby improving survival and increasing cure rate in this aggressive cancer. Patients with locally advanced TNBC are at high risk of developing lethal metastatic disease within 2 years of diagnosis, especially for those without a pathologic complete response (pCR) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The high risk occurs despite surgical excision of the primary tumor and axillary lymph nodes to eliminate residual disease.

Concurrent WOKVAC Vaccination, Chemotherapy, and HER2-Targeted Monoclonal Antibody Therapy Before Surgery for the Treatment of Patients With Breast Cancer

This phase II trial studies the immunologic response and side effects of using the WOKVAC vaccine in combination with chemotherapy and HER2-targeted monoclonal antibody therapy before surgery in treating patients with breast cancer. Vaccines like WOKVAC are made from tumor-associated antigens which may help the body build an effective immune response to kill tumor cells. Chemotherapy drugs, such as paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Trastuzumab and pertuzumab are forms of targeted therapy because they work by attaching themselves to specific molecules (receptors) on the surface of tumor cells, known as HER2 receptors. When trastuzumab and pertuzumab attach to HER2 receptors, the signals that tell the cells to grow are blocked and the tumor cell may be marked for destruction by the body's immune system. Giving the WOKVAC vaccine at the same time (concurrently) with paclitaxel, trastuzumab, and pertuzumab before surgery may kill more tumor cells.

Self Reported Pain in Women While Undergoing Treatment for Non-metastatic Breast Cancer

The overall purpose of this study is to investigate whether younger subjects report pain with pegfilgrastim (or biosimilar substitution) more often and/or at higher levels (greater intensity) than older subjects.This study will be carried out throughout the course of your chemotherapy treatment, which will be prescribed by your study doctor. Participation in this study will not affect your cancer treatment.

I-SPY TRIAL: Neoadjuvant and Personalized Adaptive Novel Agents to Treat Breast Cancer

The purpose of this study is to further advance the ability to practice personalized medicine by learning which new drug agents are most effective with which types of breast cancer tumors and by learning more about which early indicators of response (tumor analysis prior to surgery via magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images along with tissue and blood samples) are predictors of treatment success.
