Mindfulness, Exercise, and Nutrition To Optimize Resilience (MENTOR)

The Mindfulness, Nutrition and Exercise to Optimize Resilience (MENTOR) program is offered through the National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD). NCHPAD is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is a public health practice that offers health promotion programs and resources to people with mobility disabilities. The purpose of this project is to provide a free-of-charge wellness program designed to improve health and wellness for people with mobility and physical disability living in the United States.

Individualized Nutrition to Optimize Preterm Infant Growth and Neurodevelopment

Human milk has several well-established benefits but does not adequately meet the increased nutritional demands of the growing preterm infant, necessitating additional nutrient supplementation in a process known as fortification. In U.S. neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), human milk is primarily supplemented using standardized fortification, in which a multicomponent fortifier is added to human milk to achieve assumed nutrient content based on standard milk reference values. However, this method does not account for the significant variability in human milk composition or in preterm infant metabolism, and up to half of all very premature infants experience poor growth and malnutrition using current nutritional practices. Poor postnatal growth has adverse implications for the developing preterm brain and long-term neurodevelopment. Recent advances allow for individualized methods of human milk fortification, including adjustable and targeted fortification. Adjustable fortification uses laboratory markers of protein metabolism (BUN level) to estimate an infant's protein requirements. In targeted fortification, a milk sample is analyzed to determine its specific macronutrient and energy content, with additional macronutrient supplementation provided as needed to achieve goal values. Emerging data suggest that both methods are safe and effective for improving growth, however information on their comparable efficacy and neurodevelopmental implications are lacking, particularly using advanced quantitative brain MRI (qMRI) techniques. Through this prospective, randomized-controlled trial, the investigators will compare the impact of individualized human milk fortification on somatic growth and neurodevelopment in preterm infants. Infants will be randomized to receive one of three nutritional interventions: standardized (control group), adjustable, or targeted human milk fortification. Infants will undergo their assigned nutritional intervention until term-equivalent age or discharge home, whichever is achieved first. Brain qMRI will be performed at term-corrected age, and neurodevelopmental follow-up will be performed through 5 years of age.

Efficacy of Viome's Precision Nutrition Program Towards Reducing HbA1c

This is a randomized, placebo-controlled trial that will test the efficacy of VPNP in reducing HbA1c. Participant recruitment will occur through direct-to-participant enrollment. No additional clinical sites will be used for recruitment.

Nutrition for Precision Health, Powered by the All of Us

The goal of this investigational study is to develop algorithms that predict human response to foods. The main question it aims to answer are: * How does varying foods and eating patterns impact one's biological and physiological responses? * In what ways can novel dietary assessment measures be used to improve dietary assessments and to prescribe assessments to people in future research with increased precision? * Can artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques be combined to prescribe foods and eating patterns to individuals for optimization of their health? There are 3 Modules participants may take part in: * Module 1- A participant's dietary intake and accompanying nutritional status, biological and other measures will be observed over 10 days, as well as physiological responses to a liquid mixed meal tolerance test will be measured. * Module 2- Participants will undergo three controlled dietary interventions provided for 14-days each and separated by washout periods of at least 14 days. Physiological responses following a diet-specific meal test will be measured. * Module 3- Participants will undergo the same three dietary interventions during the same 14 day periods as Module 2 while being studied in-residence. Physiological responses following a liquid mixed meal tolerance test and a diet-specific meal test will be measured.

Viome Nutritional Programs to Improve Clinical Outcomes for Gastrointestinal Conditions

US residents who have gastrointestinal issues sign the informed consent form and are screened and enrolled for this study. Participants who are enrolled complete a survey upon enrollment and are randomized into one of three arms. This study is direct to participant and will NOT utilize clinical sites.

Exercise and Nutrition Interventions for Platinum Chemotherapy-induced Neuropathy R21

Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a highly prevalent and severe side-effect of platinum-based chemotherapy, often used to treat gastrointestinal cancers. Unfortunately there are very limited treatments for CIPN. This is a phase II randomized controlled trial to test the preliminary efficacy of exercise vs. nutrition education on CIPN, to systematically investigate the potential roles of inflammation and interoception, and to obtain data with a more accurate effect size to inform a future study.

Nutrition to Optimize, Understand, and Restore Insulin Sensitivity in HIV for Oklahoma

The NOURISH-OK Study will identify how food insecurity contributes to insulin resistance, an important surrogate marker of many co-morbidities in HIV disease, using an integrated framework to identify key leverage points for insulin resistance. Drawing from these pathways, this study will adapt and evaluate a community-driven, science-informed "food as medicine" intervention designed to lower insulin resistance through healthy food access, food utilization skills, and other self-care behaviors. Knowledge gained from this study can benefit those living with HIV through the prevention and more effective management of pre-diabetes, diabetes, obesity, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
