Aim 1: Refine the HRSN navigation model to integrate a digital platform (Findhelp.org) to meet the needs of AYAs. The investigators will conduct iterative co-design sessions with AYAs and caregivers to understand their views on the existing Findhelp.org website and the likely need for other human-to-human and digital strategies to augment platform engagement (e.g., text reminders) and to address vocational needs. Aim 2: Evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of the refined hybrid intervention that includes digital + person-to-person HRSN navigation. Aim 3: Explore the preliminary impact of the refined hybrid intervention, compared to elevated usual care (a one-time referral to FindHelp.org alone), on reduction in financial distress (AYA and caregiver) and on AYA global health (i.e., mental, social, physical).
This study addresses real-world use of long-acting injectable cabotegravir/rilpivirine (CAB/RPV LA) by evaluating implementation and clinical outcomes of a pharmacist-led collaborative drug therapy management model (CDTM+) that will be expanded for telehealth outreach to women with health-related social needs (HRSN).
The Empowering Students Project is an evaluation of the effectiveness of a psychoeducational program for adolescents, intended to help youth build healthy relationship skills while supporting positive socioemotional development and promoting successful transition to young adulthood.
This prospective study aims to assess health-related social needs (HRSNs) among patients with chronic liver disease (CLD) receiving outpatient care at Indiana University Health. Patients with CLD often face socioeconomic challenges that adversely affect health outcomes, but no validated screening tool exists for this population. The primary objective is to measure the prevalence and types of HRSNs in CLD patients. Secondary objectives are to evaluate patient preferences regarding provider involvement in addressing social needs, explore reasons for declining assistance, and assess provider perspectives on incorporating HRSN data into clinical care. A total of 200 adult patients with CLD and their visit providers will be enrolled. Participants will complete surveys on demographics, HRSNs, health literacy, quality of life, social support, and patient activation, with medical data supplemented from chart review. Providers will complete surveys about their experiences using HRSN data in routine practice. Results will describe unmet social needs in this population, patient and provider attitudes toward screening, and inform strategies for integrating HRSN assessments into liver disease management and routine healthcare delivery.
New oral anticancer treatments have improved survival across cancer types but introduced challenges in medication adherence and symptom management. The SMART pilot trial will test a new mobile health intervention that facilitates remote adherence and symptom monitoring, patient-provider communication outside of clinic visits regarding the use of oral anticancer treatments, and support for financial and social needs, as well as health literacy support, for 30 English- and Spanish-speaking patients. This study will increase understanding of barriers and facilitators to the use of the proposed mHealth intervention.
