Apixaban in Thrombocytopenia

This study is being done to determine the feasibility and safety of using a novel dose adjusted apixaban for the management of participants with cancer-associated venous thromboembolism (blood clot) or and thrombocytopenia (low number of platelets in the blood). Investigators are also looking to see if participants on this treatment have fewer bleeding episodes. The name of the study drug involved in this study is: -Apixiban (a type of anticoagulant)

A Study of Mezagitamab in Adults With Chronic Primary Immune Thrombocytopenia

Primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is a condition where the immune system mistakenly destroys platelets, which are cells that help stop bleeding. This leads to a low number of platelets, making it easier to bruise or bleed. The main aim of this study is to learn whether mezagitamab, when given just under the skin (subcutaneously \[SC\]), is effective in keeping the platelet count of adults with ITP stable when compared to a placebo. A placebo looks like medicine but doesn't have any active ingredients in it. The participants will be treated with mezagitamab for up to 6 months. During the study, participants will visit their study clinic several times. Participants who complete the TAK-079-3002 study or do not have any response to study treatment by week 16 (according to study criteria) will be given the opportunity to participate in a continuation study to receive open label mezagitamab (if they are eligible and the site is able to open the continuation study).

A Study of Selinexor Monotherapy in Subjects with JAK Inhibitor-naïve Myelofibrosis and Moderate Thrombocytopenia

A Phase 2 Study of VLX-1005 Versus Placebo in Suspected Heparin Induced Thrombocytopenia

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of VLX-1005, a 12-lipoxygenase (12-LOX) enzyme inhibitor in treating heparin induced thrombocytopenia (HIT). Participants with suspected HIT will receive the usual standard of care, and will be assigned randomly to either VLX-1005 or placebo treatment. The study will measure important outcomes including platelet count, stroke, pulmonary embolus (clot to the lungs) and bleeding.

Impact of Thrombocytopenia and Platelet Transfusions on Neonatal Bleeding and Inflammation

This is a prospective observational study that was designed with the following two Specific Aims: 1. To determine whether the Immature Platelet Fraction percentage (IPF%) and the Immature Platelet Count (IPC) are better predictors of bleeding than the platelet count alone in neonates of different gestational and post-conceptional ages and with different etiologies of thrombocytopenia; and 2. To characterize the effects of neonatal thrombocytopenia and platelet transfusions (PLT Tx) on bleeding and on markers of systemic inflammation, thrombosis, and neutrophil extracellular traps (NET) formation in neonates with different underlying conditions.

Safety, Tolerability, and Efficacy of NVG-2089 in Participants With Immune Thrombocytopenia

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety of NVG-2089 and to evaluate how well patients respond to this investigational treatment. NVG-2089 is a new drug that is being developed for treating patients with ITP. NVG-2089 is designed to mimic the effects of a protein called IVIg. NVG-2089 is designed to help the immune system by attaching (binding) to certain receptors in the body and activating them, which helps reduce inflammation and supports how the immune system works.

Cognitive Dysfunction in Chronic and Persistent Immune Thrombocytopenia

Individuals with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) frequently report difficulties with attention and memory. The main question this study seeks to answer is: Do patients with ITP have evidence of cognitive impairment as detected by a cognitive function test battery? To address this issue, participants will take a cognitive function test and complete surveys on quality of life, fatigue, depression, and cognitive symptoms. The primary aim of the study is to evaluate for the presence and extent of cognitive impairment in patients with ITP. The study will also assess whether cognitive impairment in ITP is associated with patient-reported impacts on quality of life, fatigue, mood, and cognitive symptoms as well as clinical characteristics such as ITP disease and treatment history.

A Study of Pirtobrutinib in Participants With Immune Thrombocytopenia

The purpose of the phase 1 part of this study is to evaluate how well pirtobrutinib is tolerated and what side effects may occur. The phase 2 part of the study will further investigate efficacy and safety of multiple pirtobrutinib dosages versus placebo. The study drug will be administered orally in participants with Primary Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP). Blood tests will be performed to check how much pirtobrutinib gets into the bloodstream and how long it takes the body to eliminate it. The study will last up to approximately 16 weeks for phase 1 dose-escalation and 28 weeks for phase 2 dose-optimization, excluding screening.

Cognitive Status, Fatigue and Inflammation in Patients With Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP)

This is a multi-center, hospital based, cross-sectional study based on data from patient medical records, including laboratory results. The study will include adult patients with chronic (\> 1 year duration) primary Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) only. Patients will be identified based on a laboratory confirmed diagnosis of ITP in the medical records, where there is also a physician-confirmed diagnosis of primary ITP. If patients consent to take part in the study, a routine clinical visit will also serve as the study visit. All study participants will have a routine blood test as part of their standard clinical care at the study visit, and this same procedure will be used to collect supplementary blood samples to assess a variety of biomarkers. Data will be collected using a combination of chart review, clinical outcome assessment administration, and laboratory results through blood tests.
