A Study to Comparing SCD411 and Eylea® in Subjects With Wet Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD)
Description

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a leading cause of vision loss in adults. Abnormal blood vessels grow under the macula at the back of the eye, and also leak blood and fluid, which damages and scars the macula, affecting vision. The current standard of care for patients with neovascular (exudative / wet) AMD is anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) therapy, which prevents or slows down the growth of the abnormal blood vessels. SCD411 is being developed as a biosimilar to the reference product Eylea® (aflibercept), an anti-VEGF drug. The study aims to prove equivalence of SCD411 to Eylea in adults with wet AMD, and will look at safety, tolerance, effectiveness, immune response and the movement of the drug through the body.

Description

This is a study in people with an eye disease called wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD). The purpose of the study is to find out how well different doses of a medicine called BI 836880 are tolerated. People can participate if they are at least 55 years old and if they have new blood vessels in their eyes despite treatment (anti-VEGF therapies). The study has 2 parts. In the first part, people get only 1 dose of BI 836880. This part takes 6 weeks. In the second part, people get 3 times the same dose of BI 836880. This part takes 6 months. BI 836880 is injected into the eye. During the entire study doctors regularly check the health of the participants.

Dorzolamide-timolol in Combination With Anti-vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Injections for Wet Age-related Macular Degeneration
Description

A previous pilot study demonstrated that commonly available glaucoma drops (dorzolamide-timolol) might decrease the amount of chronic swelling in patient with wet age-related macular degeneration who have been receiving anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injections. This will be a larger study where subjects are randomly assigned to receive the glaucoma drops or a placebo (artificial tears) in order to confirm whether this previous finding is valid. Subjects will continue to receive the normally scheduled anti-VEGF injections at regular intervals as done prior to enrollment. The only addition to the regimen will be the daily use of eye drops (dorzolamide-timolol or artificial tears) twice daily for the duration of the study. At the end of the study, the swelling in the retina will be compared to the amount before starting the drops to see if there is any difference between the group using dorzolamide-timolol versus artificial tears.

Description

The primary objective of the study was to explore the effect of REGN2176-3 on the Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Scale (ETDRS) best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) in participants with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD), compared to intravitreal aflibercept injection (IAI) monotherapy. The secondary objectives of the study were the following: * To explore the effect of 2 dose levels of IVT REGN2176-3 on anatomical changes of CNV in participants with nAMD compared to IAI monotherapy (at week 12) * To evaluate if short-term treatment with REGN2176-3 followed by IAI monotherapy offered the same or additional benefit compared to continuous treatment with REGN2176-3. The purpose of the study is to determine the effectiveness of Ranibizumab 0.5 mg or 1.0 mg in subjects who were previously treated with Bevacizumab and subsequently switched to Aflibercept. These subjects have demonstrated a sub-optimal therapeutic response to the previous therapies; therefore, the study aims to see if Ranibizumab may have a greater treatment effect.
