This is a randomized pilot study of Coronary CT Angiography (CCTA) for coronary atherosclerosis vs. Usual Care in patients with prostate cancer who are either planning to begin, or are currently taking androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) .
The primary goal of this clinical trial is to test the hypothesis that the drug canakinumab (anti-IL-1B monoclonal antibody) decreases vascular inflammation when used by people with a history of coronary artery disease, including those with and without clonal hematopoiesis driven by mutations in TET2.
This is a multicenter observational cohort study with both retrospective and prospective data collection components in subjects with ASCVD. The purpose of this study is to better understand cholesterol treatment patterns in the context of a changing landscape in subjects with ASCVD.
A 400-patient U.S.-based single-center Quality Improvement Initiative in the form of a randomized controlled trial focused on the feasibility of implementation of this electronic alert-based CDS (EPIC BPA) based on LDL-C values. The 400 patients will be comprised of 200 in the "Hospitalized Patient Cohort" and 200 in the "Outpatient Clinic Cohort." The allocation ratio will be 1:1 for an electronic alert-based CDS (EPIC BPA) notification versus no notification.
The purpose of the Patient and Provider Assessment of Lipid Management Registry (PALM) is to gain a better understanding of physicians' cholesterol medication prescribing practices, patient and physician attitudes and beliefs related to cholesterol management, and current utilization of cholesterol-lowering therapies given the new ACC/AHA guideline recommendations. The PALM Registry hopes to allow for the design of ways to improve cholesterol management and decrease the burden of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in the US.
