RECRUITING
Phase 2b Study to Investigate the Safety and Efficacy of TIN816 in Sepsis-associated Acute Kidney Injury (SA-AKI)
Description

The purpose of this Ph2b study is to characterize the dose-response relationship and to evaluate the safety and efficacy of three different single doses of TIN816 in hospitalized adult participants in an intensive care setting with a diagnosis of sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI).

TERMINATED
(Revival) Study to Investigate the Efficacy and Safety of Alkaline Phosphatase in Patients With Sepsis-Associated AKI
Description

Clinical phase 3 study to investigate the effect of recAP on 28 day mortality in patients admitted to the ICU with acute kidney injury that is caused by sepsis. The study has three distinct SA-AKI trial populations: 1. The main trial population: Patients with a pre-AKI reference eGFR ≥45 mL/min/1.73 m2 and no proven or suspected SARS-CoV-2 at time of randomization. 2. A 'moderate' CKD population: Patients with a pre-AKI reference eGFR ≥25 and \<45 mL/min/1.73 m2 and no proven or suspected SARS-CoV-2 at time of randomization. 3. A Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) population: Patients with proven or suspected SARS-CoV-2 at time of randomization with or without 'moderate' CKD. For patients in this population, COVID-19 should be the main cause of SA-AKI. In the main study population approximately 1400 patients will be enrolled and in the two cohorts with moderate CKD and COVID-19 each up to 100 patients. There are two arms in the study, one with active treatment and one with an inactive compound (placebo). Treatment is by 1 hour intravenous infusion, for three days. Patients are followed up for 28 days to see if there is an improvement on mortality, and followed for 90 and 180 days for mortality and other outcomes e.g. long-term kidney function and quality of life.

RECRUITING
QUELIMMUNE (SCD-PED) PediAtric SurVeillance REgistry
Description

QUELIMMUNE is FDA-approved under an HDE for the treatment of pediatric patients (weight ≥10kg and age ≤22 years) with AKI due to sepsis or a septic condition on antibiotic therapy and requiring RRT. The purpose of this surveillance registry is to prospectively collect safety data among all patients treated with QUELIMMUNE under the HDE. More specifically, we intend on comparing the incidence of new (secondary) blood stream infections in the first 28 days after SCD-PED initiation to a comparator group of matched CKRT patients with sepsis who did not receive treatment with QUELIMMUNE

RECRUITING
Renin Angiotensin Aldosterone System In Septic Kids
Description

Prospective observational cohort study; pediatric sepsis vs. healthy pediatric subjects and pediatric sepsis with acute kidney injury (AKI) vs without AKI. Blood samples and renal ultrasound will be collected on sequential days for septic subject and one time for the healthy patients. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) with be run on serum plasma to compare the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) between groups.

NOT_YET_RECRUITING
Use of NGAL for Fluid Dosing and CRRT Initiation in Pediatric and Neonatal AKI
Description

This study will follow patients admitted to the PICU with sepsis, NICU with sepsis or after abdominal surgery, or CICU who are identified as being at risk for developing acute kidney injury. The investigators will use risk-stratification, biomarker testing, and a functional assessment to predict children and neonates who will become fluid overloaded and develop severe acute kidney injury.
