8 Clinical Trials for Various Conditions
This post-market study will assess the performance of and user experience with the PureWick™ System in a home setting. The study will also observe safety of the study device and collect information from participants about their quality of life before and after using the device.
Urinary incontinence (UI) is a common disorder among older women that greatly affects quality of life. Emerging evidence from observational studies links vitamin D insufficiency with UI. Prior to a larger intervention trial of vitamin D among older women with low serum vitamin D levels and urgency UI, we propose a pilot study in 100 older women comparing weekly, oral vitamin D3 50,000 IU to placebo. We hypothesize that adequate vitamin D supplementation will improve UI symptoms in older women with vitamin D deficiency. Changes in UI-episodes will be assessed by a 7-day bladder diary and other validated symptom measures administered at baseline and after 12-weeks of intervention. Serum calcium and 25(OH)D levels will be monitored. The expected outcomes will provide new knowledge regarding the impact of vitamin D supplementation on UI symptom improvement and inform a larger, randomized controlled clinical trial involving vitamin D supplementation.
The purpose of this study is to provide confirmatory evidence of the safety and efficacy of two Dysport® (AbobotulinumtoxinA) doses (600 units \[U\] and 800 U), compared to placebo in reducing urinary incontinence (UI) in adult subjects treated for neurogenic detrusor overactivity (NDO) due to spinal cord injury (SCI) or multiple sclerosis (MS).
This is a Phase 2b, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study designed to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of solabegron immediate release low dose or high dose tablets, compared to matched placebo, administered twice daily for 12 weeks to adult female subjects with overactive bladder symptoms (frequency, urgency, and predominantly urgency incontinence) for at least 6 months.

The goal of this study is to conduct a randomized pilot multi-arm clinical trial comparing a standard course of physical therapist provided pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) to pharmacologic therapy for the treatment of urgency urinary incontinence (UUI) or Overactive Bladder (OAB) in older women at high risk of falling. The central hypotheses for this project are i) a randomized pilot multi-arm clinical trial comparing PFMT to drug treatment for UUI or OAB in older women at high risk of falling is feasible; and ii) treatment approach can influence both UI and fall related outcomes in this patient population. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1) Is a multi-arm clinical trial comparing PFMT to drug treatment for UUI or OAB in older women at high risk of falling feasible? and 2) How does treatment approach influence both OAB and fall related outcomes in this patient population? Women (16 per arm) 60 years and older with UUI or OAB who screen positive for high fall risk will be randomized to one of three standard of care treatment arms and followed for six months. The three treatment arms are i) a 12-week structured behaviorally based pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) intervention administered by physical therapists in the clinic; ii) a 12-week course of the beta-3 agonist, Mirabegron; and iii) a 12-week course of the antimuscarinic, Trospium Chloride. Researchers will compare study feasibility and OAB symptom related outcomes across the three groups to see if a larger clinical trial is warranted.
