A Study to Evaluate the Safety and Effectiveness of the InnAVasc Arteriovenous Graft for Hemodialysis Access in Patients With End Stage Renal Disease
Description

The goal of the CSP-2002 clinical trial is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the InnAVasc Arteriovenous Graft (IG) for hemodialysis (HD) access in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). The primary study endpoints are: Primary Effectiveness Endpoint: The proportion of subjects with secondary patency at 6 months. Primary Safety Endpoint: The incidence of device-related adverse events of special interest (AESIs) through 6 months. Participants will be asked to sign an informed consent form. Once enrolled, they will be assessed to receive the study graft implant and asked to participate in periodic follow-up visits and assessments through 2 years following implant.

An Efficacy and Safety Study of SRM003 in the Treatment of Subjects Undergoing Placement of an Arteriovenous Graft to Facilitate Hemodialysis Access
Description

A study to evaluate the efficacy of SRM003 treatment versus participating sites' standard practice treatment in extending the duration of primary patency after arteriovenous graft surgery in subjects with end-stage renal disease. It is hypothesized that when placed outside the blood vessel, the seeded SRM003 gelatin matrix containing endothelial cells can provide a continuous supply of multiple growth regulatory compounds to the underlying cells within the blood vessel, while being protected from the effects of blood flow in the vessel(s) or complications resulting from being in direct contact with the point of injury.

A Pilot Study To Evaluate The CreatiVasc Hemoaccess Valve System In Patients Requiring Arteriovenous Graft Placement
Description

The ability to selectively control blood flow through an arteriovenous (AV) graft only when it is needed for dialysis may reduce the current repetitive complications such as thrombosis, venous hypertension post-dialysis bleeding, and blood steal from the extremities. The Hemoaccess Valve System (HVS) allows an AV graft to be turned on to blood flow when it is needed for dialysis then when dialysis is concluded, the device shuts off arterial blood flow and residual blood in the graft is flushed back into the body, using the dialysis blood lines. Once the graft is cleared of blood, the venous valve is then closed. Heparinized sterile saline reside in the graft between dialysis sessions. By having only saline in the graft and restoring normal blood flow to the artery and vein, it is believed that this will dramatically reduce the current complications associated with now having blood diverted through the graft 24/7.

A Study of PRT-201 Administered After Arteriovenous Graft (AVG) Creation in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease
Description

PRT-201 is a recombinant human type-I pancreatic elastase intended for local, long-lasting dilation of the AVG venous anastomosis and outflow vein. The goal of the treatment is to improve primary patency and long-term survival of AVGs and thereby provide patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) a reliable and durable vascular access site for hemodialysis. Recent data indicate that up to three quarters of patients have loss of graft patency at one year, indicating a substantial need for new therapies. This clinical trial will explore the safety and dilatory effect of topically administered PRT-201 on the outflow vein of a newly placed upper extremity AVG.

Trial of Fistula Versus Graft in Elderly Patients
Description

This open-label pilot randomized controlled trial will test the feasibility and safety of randomizing patients over 65 years old who start hemodialysis with a tunneled dialysis catheter (TDC), and are eligible to receive either arteriovenous fistula (AVF) or arteriovenous graft (AVG), to an AVF strategy (comparator) or to an AVG strategy (intervention). The primary outcome is feasibility, which we will assess by measuring: (1) the proportion of randomized participants who receive the assigned arteriovenous access; and (2) the annual rate of enrollment in the study, accounting for the number of surgeons who participate. Secondary outcomes will include perioperative morbidity and mortality, catheter removal rates, additional procedures performed, and the reasons a patient may not receive the assigned AV access.

Evaluating the Safety and Effectiveness of the InnAVasc Graft for Dialysis Access in Patients With Kidney Failure
Description

The CSP-1001 study will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the InnAVasc arteriovenous graft (AVG) when implanted in and used for hemodialysis in participants suffering from end stage renal failure (ESRD). The InnAVasc AVG is implanted and used similar to other standard of care dialysis grafts currently on the market. However, the InnAVasc AVG has been uniquely designed to potentially allow for immediate needle access (same day as implant surgery as opposed to 2-4 weeks of waiting), to potentially reduce excessive bleeding from the graft after dialysis, and it may provide protection from improper or missed needle cannulation attempts.

Comparison of AVF Versus AVG in Elderly Patients Starting Dialysis
Description

This is a pilot, single-center, randomized trial of 90 subjects to evaluate complication rates and functional status decline in subjects age 65 years and older referred for vascular access placement. Subjects will be randomized to arteriovenous fistula (AVF) (n = 45) versus arteriovenous graft (AVG) (n = 45), placed in a vascular access monitoring protocol, and undergo measurements of functional status including gait speed, grip strength, and self-reported function over 6 months. The primary hypothesis to be tested is that AVF placement will result in a higher proportion of primary access failure as defined by a binary composite primary endpoint of an unsalvageable access or an immature access or a non-functional access measured at 6 months compared to AVG placement. In addition, the study will evaluate whether AVF placement and a greater number of access procedures will result in a greater decline in functional status as measured by the average change over 6 months in gait speed, grip strength, and self-reported function as assessed by the Disabilities in Arm, Shoulder and Hand Survey.

Vascular Sealant Study
Description

Study Objective:To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Vascular Sealant compared with Gelfoam/Thrombin when used to seal bleeding anastomotic suture lines in patients undergoing vascular reconstructive surgery requiring placement of a PTFE graft (including extra-anatomic, infrainguinal bypass and arteriovenous (AV) access procedures). Study Design: The study is a multi-center, prospective, randomized controlled clinical trial that will compare two methods for treating anastomotic leakage (bleeding). All subjects (n =151) will be randomized at a 3:1 ratio to receive either the investigational treatment (Vascular Sealant) or the control treatment (Gelfoam/Thrombin). Up to two (2) treatment sites may be evaluated for each subject. Subjects will be stratified by type of graft procedure: AV access graft or extra-anatomic and infra-inguinal graft. A minimum of 60 patients, and a maximum of 91 patients, will be enrolled in each stratum. Treatment randomization will be blocked by center and type of graft procedure (e.g., bypass or AV grafts). All subjects will undergo preoperative screening to determine eligibility and will be evaluated intraoperatively, at discharge or within 7 days of surgery, and 30 days post-procedure to monitor for hematologic disturbances, hemorrhagic events, wound complications and other potential acute post-operative adverse events. Up to ten (10) investigational sites will participate in the study. Enrollment is expected to take approximately 8 months for an anticipated duration of the clinical investigation of approximately 9 to 10 months. The primary objective of this trial is to demonstrate non-inferiority of the Vascular Sealant to Gelfoam/Thrombin when used to seal anastomotic suture lines in patients undergoing placement of PTFE vascular grafts (including extra-anatomic, infrainguinal bypass and arteriovenous access procedures).
