Description

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of ONO-7746 across multiple doses in patients with solid tumors and chemotherapy induced thrombocytopenia (CIT) scheduled to receive at least two cycles of myelosuppressive chemotherapy on Day 1 every 21 days at the same dosages and schedule in the study. The secondary objectives are to characterize the PK profiles of ONO-7746 and to explore the pharmacodynamic effect of ONO-7746 on CIT.

Description

This is an open-label study in which oprelvekin will be administered for the prevention of severe low blood platelet cell counts (cells in your blood that keep bleeding and clotting stable) in adults with cancer who are taking chemotherapy (anti-cancer drug) that has a side effect of blocking your bone marrow from making platelet cells. The purpose of this study is to learn more about the effects of the recommended dose of oprelvekin on the heart's electrical cycle.

To utilise extended platelet parameters in order to individuate Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) from hypo-proliferative causes of thrombocytopenia. To develop the clinical potential of the extended platelet parameters as they pertain to distinguishing different causes of thrombocytopenia from one another. To test the hypothesis that mean platelet component (MPC) and mean platelet mass (MPM) might distinguish between thrombocytopenia related to bone marrow dysfunction and immune mediated destruction of platelets.

Description

This study evaluates the use of tranexamic acid (TXA) in addition to standard therapy in children receiving chemotherapy or blood and/or marrow transplantation to decrease the risk of bleeding. Half of participants will receive tranexamic acid and half of participants will receive placebo.

Safety and Efficacy Study for Solid Tumor Patients Treated With Eltrombopag
Description

The present study is a randomized, blinded, placebo-controlled, two-Phase, sequential cohort, dose finding study to assess the safety and efficacy of eltrombopag in patients with solid tumors receiving gemcitabine monotherapy or the combination of gemcitabine plus carboplatin or cisplatin. Phase I of the study will examine safety and tolerability of various doses of eltrombopag to identify a dose and schedule of eltrombopag. Phase II will confirm that the chosen dose and schedule of eltrombopag from Phase I can deliver clinically meaningful benefit(s) to thrombocytopenic patients by improving platelet numbers.

The study is also being done to 1) check on how well the study drug is tolerated by healthy subjects versus those with liver problems and 2) to check if liver impairment affects how the study drug binds to protein in the blood.

Description

SB497115 is an oral agent which activates the thrombopoietin receptor and increases platelet counts in healthy volunteers. This study is examining several different doses of SB497115 versus placebo as treatment for patients with advanced solid tumors scheduled to receive chemotherapy with carboplatin and paclitaxel every 21 days. Patients will receive SB497115 on days 2-11 of each 21 day cycle for at least 2 cycles of chemotherapy and for a maximum of 8 cycles of chemotherapy.
