Description

To assess the duration of severe neutropenia (DSN) in treatment Cycle 1 in patients treated with docetaxel (75 mg/m2) + plinabulin (5, 10, or 20 mg/m2) or with docetaxel (75 mg/m2) + pegfilgrastim (6 mg). Neutrophils count was to be assessed at baseline (prior to Cycle 1 docetaxel dose) and during Cycle 1 on Days 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 15 (pre-dose on dosing days; times equivalent to pre dose on other days).

Community-Led Action Research in Oncology: Improving Symptom Management
Description

This study will be conducted at La Liga Contra el Cancer in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The overall objective of this project is to improve symptom management for patients undergoing chemotherapy in Honduras. The first step in this line of research is a "proof of concept" feasibility study in which the investigators will demonstrate their ability to train nurses to administer a non-pharmacological, telephone-delivered, symptom management program for chemotherapy patients.

To assess Duration of Severe Neutropenia (DSN) in treatment Cycle 1 in patients with advanced or metastatic breast cancer, who have failed \>/= 1 but \< 5 prior lines of chemotherapy; locally advanced or metastatic non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after platinum therapy failure; or hormone refractory (androgen independent) metastatic prostate cancer treated with docetaxel (75 mg/m2) + plinabulin (40 mg) versus docetaxel (75 mg/m2) + pegfilgrastim (6 mg). Starting Granulocyte Colony-Stimulating Factor at 1 Day vs 3 Days Following Chemotherapy in Pediatric Cancer Patients
Description

Chemotherapy places patients at an increased risk of infection. A medication called granulocyte colony-stimulating factor is given as a daily injection in order to help decrease the risk of infection. The purpose of this study is to determine the best time to begin granulocyte colony-stimulating factor while maintaining the same clinical benefits. The current study aims to fill these research gaps and address the general question: Can G-CSF safely be given 72 hours following the last day of chemotherapy without increasing the incidence of febrile neutropenia, the duration of neutropenia, or causing increased delays in the next course of chemotherapy.

A Study of ALRN-6924 for Protection of Chemotherapy-Induced Side Effects in Patients With TP53-Mutant Breast Cancer
Description

This is a Phase 1b open-label, single arm, multicenter, study of ALRN-6924 as a chemoprotection agent in patients with TP53-mutated HER2- breast cancer (stages IIa to IIIb) receiving neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy with doxorubicin, docetaxel, and cyclophosphamide (TAC). Chemotherapy affects cells that are dividing, whether they are tumor cells or healthy cells (including, bone marrow cells, hair follicle cells, and epithelial cells lining the gastrointestinal tract). ALRN-6924 is designed to stop cell division in healthy cells but not in tumor cells because they have a mutation of the TP53 gene. When this happens, tumor cells will still be destroyed by the chemotherapy but healthy cells that are not dividing may be spared from chemotherapy damage and the patient should have less side effects.
