A Pilot Study of Ultra Rapid Opioid Rotation and Titration of Oxymorphone
Description

This project will explore the safety and feasibility of performing a successful intravenous patient controlled analgesia (IV PCA) Oxymorphone titration and conversion to oral ER Oxymorphone (extended release or OPANA ER) in the outpatient setting.

COMPLETED
PET/MRI in the Diagnosis of Pediatric Chronic Pain
Description

\[18F\]FTC-146 is a sigma-1 receptor detector and is an experimental radiotracer. Several studies have implicated involvement of sigma-1 receptors in generation and perpetuation of chronic pain conditions, while others are investigating anti sigma-1 receptor drugs for treatment of chronic pain. Using \[18F\]-FTC-146 and PET/MRI, we hope to learn what is the best approach to identify the source of pain generation and characterize the disease in pediatric patients with chronic pain.

RECRUITING
PET/MRI in the Diagnosis of Chronic Pain
Description

Several studies have implicated involvement of sigma-1 receptors (SR1s) in the generation of chronic pain, while others are investigating anti SR1 drugs for treatment of chronic pain. Using \[18F\]-FTC-146 and positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRI), the investigators hope to identify the source of pain generation in patients with chronic pain. The purpose of this study is to compare the uptake of \[18F\]FTC-146 in healthy volunteers to that of individuals suffering from chronic pain.

COMPLETED
Use of PET/MR Imaging in Chronic Pain
Description

The investigators are studying the ability of PET/MR imaging (using the PET tracer \[18F\]FDG) to objectively identify and characterize pain generators in patients suffering from chronic pain.

COMPLETED
A Study to Evaluate the Safety and Pharmacokinetics of CNTX-6016 in Healthy Subjects
Description

A Phase 1 double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized single ascending dose incorporating an open-label, 2-period crossover, food effect cohort.

COMPLETED
A Placebo-Controlled, Two-Part Study, Oral Dose to Evaluate the Safety, Pharmacokinetics, and Pharmacodynamics of CNTX-6970 in Healthy Subjects
Description

A Phase 1, placebo-controlled, two part study with either single dose or multiple increasing oral dose to evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of CNTX-6970 in healthy subjects.

COMPLETED
Association Between Types of Pain and Motor Activities Physical Activity
Description

This study will investigate the relationships between: (1) physical activity (PA) and types of chronic pain (nociceptive and neuropathic), and (2) virtual reality (VR) and types of chronic pain (nociceptive and neuropathic).

UNKNOWN
Observational Study of the Impact of Genetic Testing on Healthcare Decisions and Care in Interventional Pain Management
Description

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of genetic testing on healthcare decisions and patient outcomes in interventional pain management clinical care. Results of genetic testing will also be compared with the clinical outcome measures collected to discover novel genetic factors that may influence patient care.

COMPLETED
The Impact of Music on Nociceptive Processing
Description

The investigators are studying the ways that different music may change pain perception

COMPLETED
The Impact of Music Therapy on Nociceptive Processing
Description

The purpose of this study is to understand the use of brief, personalized music interventions to decrease pain. Persisting and recurring pain is devastating to individuals and society. The worry and anxiety people feel while experiencing chronic pain may increase how much pain they feel. Enjoyable music feels good and affects brain chemicals in a way that can lessen feelings of pain. Music that feels good can also lower the anxiety and worry that accompany chronic pain which may play a role in the pain relief music provides.
