RECRUITING
Comparison of Overall Function Between Postpartum Women With and Without Diastasis Rectus Abdominis
Description

The purpose of this research is to examine the effects of diastasis rectus abdominis on the overall function of postpartum women and to determine test-retest reliability and construct validity of a self-assessment palpation of inter-rectus distance for DRA using telehealth.

Conditions
TERMINATED
Frequency Specific Microcurrent for the Treatment of Diastasis Recti
Description

Determine if frequency specific microcurrent therapy improves pain management of DRA by 30% or greater.

Conditions
TERMINATED
Impact of Exercise on Diastasis Rectus Abdominus
Description

The aim with this research project is to evaluate the success of diastasis recti closure after a 4-week group exercise class that includes: strengthening of each abdominal muscle group, hip strengthening and stabilization, and pelvic floor activation and cueing during exercises. Success will be evaluated by measuring width and depth of linea alba laxity before and after completion of the 4 sessions as well as other outcome measures such as lumbopelvic pain, pain with intercourse, and incontinence. Intervention will be compared to a control group that participates in an exercise program geared toward general health and wellness.

COMPLETED
Core Strengthening for DRA in Postpartum Women
Description

This study will prospectively measure the effectiveness of a core strengthening program on reducing the inter-rectus distance (IRD) and abdominal wall muscle contraction in postpartum women with diastasis rectus abdominus (DRA). Additionally, this study will aim to investigate and clarify the association between IRD and low back pain.

COMPLETED
Evaluate the Effect of Abdominal Electrical Muscle Stimulation on Abdominal Wall Restoration in Post - Partum Women
Description

The objective of the study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Abdominal EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) on AWR (Abdominal Wall Restoration) in Post - Partum Women

WITHDRAWN
Effect of Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation on the Post-Operative Abdominoplasty Patient.
Description

The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of rehabilitative training of the abdominal wall with direct current neuromuscular electrical stimulation (the NEUBIE device) on recovery time from abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).
