Study for Remote Investigation of Evaporative Dry Eye Disease
Description

Dry eye disease is a common problem that can make your eyes feel uncomfortable and affect your vision, making daily tasks harder. Many past studies on dry eye treatments haven't worked well because they didn't include enough people or different types of people. Doing studies at home instead of at the doctor's office can help more people join and make it easier to find out which treatments really work.

This study will evaluate Next Generation Emulsion Preservative Free Eye Drops (NGE-UD) in adult participants with dry eye symptoms and who are high digital device users. NGE-UD is an over-the-counter (OTC) monograph drug indicated for the temporary relief of symptoms of eye dryness. Participants will administer 1 drop of NGE-UD on Day 1 for the acute phase of the study, after Day 1 participants will administer 1-2 eye drops in each eye at least twice a day but as much as needed through Day 15. Around 50 adult participants will be enrolled at one site in the United States. There is expected to be no additional burden for participants in this trial. Study visits may be conducted on-site as per standard of care.

Differences in Corneal Structure and Function in Patients With Sjogrens vs. Non-Sjogrens Dry Eye
Description

In this study the investigators plan to enroll three groups of patients: non-Sjogren's dry eye, Sjogren's dry eye and controls. The study has the following primary goals: 1. To determine whether dry eye is associated with reduced corneal sensation 2. To determine whether reduced corneal sensation is due to the severity of the dry eye, the type of dry eye (primarily aqueous deficient versus primarily evaporative) or entirely related to the presence of Sjogren's 3. To determine whether corneal sensation is associated with ocular or systemic pain symptoms Additionally, the study aims to compare the novel corneal esthesiometer measurements to confocal biomicroscopy findings in determining neurotrophic keratitis (NK) and assess correlations between corneal sensation.
