6 Clinical Trials for Various Conditions
This study allows continued access to the Sinexus Intranasal Splint while a marketing application is being prepared. This study will generate additional performance, reimbursement and safety data for the steroid-eluting Sinexus Intranasal Splint when used following Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) in patients with chronic sinusitis (CS).
This proposed study will assess the hemodynamic effects and measure the systemic absorption of topically applied oxymetazoline in patients undergoing functional endoscopic sinus surgery, turbinate surgery, or adenoidectomy. These patients will be receiving oxymetazoline as standard of care during the surgery.
This study will compare the incidence of post-op infection after sinus surgery using conventional post-op oral antibiotics to the incidence of infection after sinus surgery when a bio-resorbable antibiotic soaked nasal sponge is used in the nasal cavity in lieu of post-op oral antibiotics. The nasal sponge is a routine nasal dressing used after sinus surgery and will therefore be placed in all patients.
In this blinded prospective randomized control trial the researchers will investigate the impact of cutaneous vagal nerve stimulation on surgical conditions in patients undergoing functional and ascorbic sinus surgery (FESS). The device is an externally placed vagal nerve stimulator. The device will be applied to participants after consent and induction of anesthesia. The study team will open the randomization envelope and if the participant is assigned to stimulation the device will be turned on. In the case that the participant is assigned to the control arm, the device will be set to sham. The device will remain on for 30 minutes and removed before entering the OR. Device will be reinserted in the recovery room for another 30 minutes.
The purpose of this study is to compare intranasal fluticasone spray with budesonide nasal saline rinses in both the upright and head forward positions in patients who have had functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) for chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis (CRSwNP) and measure differences in Sinonasal Outcome Test-22 (SNOT-22) scores and Lund- Kennedy scores on rigid nasal endoscopy at time points 1 week, 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 2 months, 4 months, and 6 months post-op.
The purpose of this study is to assess the use of IV acetaminophen (Ofirmev) as a and safe and efficacious agent in reducing post-operative pain; we hypothesize that its use will reduce post-operative pain when compared to a control group using the visual analogue score (VAS) analog pain scoring system.
