This phase III trial studies how well thoracic epidural analgesia or four-quadrant transversus abdominus plane block works in reducing pain in patients undergoing liver surgery. It is not yet known whether thoracic epidural analgesia or four-quadrant transversus abdominus plane block may help people to recover more completely and more quickly after surgery.

Contrast-enhanced MRI in Detecting Benign and Malignant Liver Lesions
Description

This clinical trial studies contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in detecting nonmalignant and malignant liver lesions. Diagnostic procedures, such as MRI, may help find and diagnose nonmalignant and malignant liver lesions. Contrast agents, such as gadoxetate disodium and gadobutrol, may help doctors to see MRI images more clearly.

Description

This study is designed to assess whether the investigational drug maralixibat, is safe and well tolerated in children \<12 months of age with Alagille Syndrome \[ALGS\] or Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis \[PFIC\].

Description

This is an open label study in children with Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis (PFIC) designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of LUM001, also known as Maralixibat (MRX). Efficacy will be assessed by evaluating the effect of LUM001 on pruritus and the biochemical markers of pruritus associated with PFIC.
