Early-Stage Partner in Care Living Alone Plus
Description

EPICLA+ (Early-Stage Partners in Care Living Alone Plus) is a research project designed to assist people with early-stage memory loss who live alone in the community by providing early-stage related education and skill-training sessions, held via Zoom, designed to reduce stress, enhance well-being, manage challenges, and plan for the future. Researchers will gather feedback from individuals about their experience to continue to improve programs for early-stage memory loss.

Living Alone is Predictive of Non-home Discharge Following Elective Total Hip Arthroplasty: a Matched-pairs Cohort Analysis
Description

The goal of this observational study is to assess the effect of living alone on total hip arthroplasty thirty-day outcomes. The main questions it aims to answer are: Is living alone associated with discharge disposition (home versus non-home)? Is living alone associated with greater incidences of secondary adverse events? Participants will be sampled from the 2021 American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program

Living Alone in Old Age With Cognitive Impairment
Description

The purpose of this study is to better understand the experience of living alone in older age with cognitive impairment. We recruit adults 55+ living alone with cognitive impairment such as Alzheimer's disease or mild cognitive impairment. This study investigates the priorities and concerns of older adults living alone with cognitive impairment. Participants are interviewed 5 times for one hour in their homes within 3 months at a time that works for them.
