A Study to Test the Safety, Tolerability, and Efficacy of an Antibody, REGN7999, Injected Under the Skin for the Treatment of Iron Overload in Adult Participants With Non-Transfusion Dependent β-thalassemia, Using MRI Scans to Measure Iron Levels in the Body
Description

This study is researching an experimental drug called REGN7999 (called "study drug"). The study is focused on patients with non-transfusion dependent beta-thalassemia. The aim of the study is to see how safe and effective the study drug is. The study is looking at several other research questions, including: * Whether the study drug lowers extra iron levels in the body * What side effects may happen from taking the study drug * How much study drug is in the blood at different times * Whether the body makes antibodies against the study drug (which could make the drug less effective or could lead to side effects)

Dual Time Point FDG PET/MRI Scan in Improving the Imaging Cancer Patients With Brain Metastases
Description

This phase IV trial studies how well delaying positron emission tomography (PET)/magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan after injection of fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) can improve the imaging of patients with cancer that has spread to brain (brain metastases). FDG is a type of imaging agent that doctors use to help "see" the images on a scan more clearly. Delaying PET/MRI scan after injecting FDG may improve how well doctors can tell the difference between healthy and unhealthy tissue.

7T MRI Scan for the Early Detection of Melanoma Brain Metastases
Description

This clinical trial studies the use of 7-Tesla (7T) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in detecting melanoma that has spread to the brain (melanoma brain metastases). The standard MRI brain imaging is done on 3T or similar MRI machine, but the 7T MRI machine has a larger magnet which has been shown to have superior resolution of the brain and of non-cancerous brain lesions. Diagnostic procedures such as 7T MRI may help find and diagnose melanoma brain metastases earlier than standard 3T MRI.

Advanced MRI Scan Before and After Radiation Therapy for the Detection of Intracranial Metastasis
Description

This clinical trial studies the different types of investigational imaging techniques called sequences during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the head before and after radiation therapy in patients with cancer that has spread to the brain (intracranial metastases). This clinical trial also compares these new techniques with standard MRI imaging to see if sequences provide better images. Diagnostic procedures, such as MRI, may help find and diagnose solid organ cancer and find out how far the disease has spread.

Hyperpolarized 13C Pyruvate MRI Scan in Predicting Tumor Aggressiveness in Patients With Renal Tumors
Description

This feasibility study will evaluate how well hyperpolarized 13C pyruvate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan works in predicting tumor aggressiveness in participants with renal tumors. Hyperpolarized 13C pyruvate is a non-radioactive substance with potential usage in the diagnostic imaging of tumors. Hyperpolarized 13C pyruvate MRI may help doctors determine non-invasively whether a kidney tumor is a benign tumor or cancer, and if cancer, how aggressive it is. This may help doctors and participants with renal tumors in the future to make better treatment decisions.

Description

This is a phase 1 study to determine the feasibility and utility of using serial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to assess treatment response during and after radiation therapy (standard of care cancer treatment) for participants with advanced esophageal cancer, glioblastoma, prostate cancer, vulvar cancer or pediatric glioma. The research study procedures include three MRI scans (one before, one during, and one after standard of care cancer radiation therapy) for participants with advanced esophageal cancer, glioblastoma, prostate cancer, vulvar cancer or pediatric glioma. 18F-DOPA-PET/MRI Scan in Imaging Elderly Patients With Newly Diagnosed Grade IV Malignant Glioma or Glioblastoma During Planning for a Short Course of Proton Beam Radiation Therapy
Description

This phase II trial studies how well fluorodopa F 18-positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging scan (18F-DOPA-PET/MRI) works in imaging elderly patients with newly diagnosed grade IV malignant glioma or glioblastoma during planning for a short course of proton beam radiation therapy. 18F-DOPA is a chemical tracer that highlights certain cells during imaging. PET scan, is a metabolic imaging technique which takes advantage of how tumor cells take up nutrients differently than normal tissue. MRI scans are used to guide radiation therapy for most brain tumors. Hypofractionated proton beam therapy delivers higher doses of radiation therapy over a shorter period of time and may kill more tumor cells and have fewer side effects. Using 18FDOPA-PET scans along with MRI scans may be able to provide the radiation doctor with information on tumor tissue versus normal, healthy tissue and may help the doctor more accurately plan the radiation treatment.

Study to Monitor Patients With Pacemakers or ICDs Who Undergo MRI Scans
Description

This study is a prospective, non-randomized, unblinded case series of patients with permanent pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators undergoing medically-required magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanning, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Essentia Health. Patients will be enrolled over a 60-month period and followed for 12 months, with data collected to evaluate the study's primary endpoint, change in pacing thresholds over time, as well as a series of secondary endpoints, including: adverse events, symptoms, need to make pacemaker programming changes, and possible artifacts created by the pacemaker systems on the MRI scans. This study will allow for carefully monitoring of the safety MRI scanning in this population and improve practice models and protocols in the future.

This phase I/II trial is studying how well fludeoxyglucose F 18 PET scan, CT scan, and ferumoxtran-10 MRI scan finds lymph node metastasis before undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer or high-risk endometrial cancer. Diagnostic procedures, such as a fludeoxyglucose F 18 positron emission tomography (PET) scan, computed tomography (CT) scan, and ferumoxtran-10 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan, may help find lymph node metastasis in patients with cervical cancer or endometrial cancer.

Study for the Evaluation of the Feasibility of Applying Advanced MRI Scanning in Pediatric Clinical Practice
Description

The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the feasibility in conducting advanced MRI sequences in a pediatric clinical setting. The study will be observational in nature, and will only evaluate the studies of pediatric patients who have already been prescribed an advanced MRI for clinical neurological purposes. The only difference for the subject in participating in this study is that the data and information about their scan can be used and disclosed for research purposes, i.e. understanding if the time of the scan, patient comfort, and quality of the data are feasible. Standard MRI's have been extremely beneficial in the diagnosis and assessment of disease, injury, and anomalies throughout the body. Adding advanced MRI sequences to the arsenal of current standard MRI sequences, as well as analyzing the clinical significance of the data, may improve the benefits of MRI in the future. Within this scope, the study will be looking at the following factors: 1. The total time of the scan, including: * Patient arrival time/lateness * Patient preparation time * Time scanner is being occupied * Patient compliance (is the patient continually stopping the study for breaks, fear, movement, etc.) 2. Patient dropout rate, including: * Change of mind * Cost of study is too much * Failure to finish the scan 3. Usability of data, including: * Movement artifact * Patient requiring re-scan for any reason The scan will consist of two to five advanced MRI sequences that will average between 7-15 minutes each, in addition to a routine 5 minute standard MRI sequence. The variability in the number of advanced sequences depends on the prescription and patient history. All sequences are performed using a 1.5 Tesla Siemens MRI scanner at Westwood Open MRI, a 3 Tesla GE scanner at Tower Saint John's Imaging, or a 3 Tesla Siemens MRI scanner at Resolution Imaging. All scanners are FDA-approved.

Pediatric Temperature Variation in the MRI Scanner Under General Anesthesia
Description

The number of children undergoing MRI imaging has increased significantly in the past years, because many young children cannot stay still for the duration of the scan, have difficulty tolerating the confined space and the noise produced by the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine, sedation or General Anesthesia is required in these cases. In the investigators institution, the investigators use General Anesthesia for children undergoing MRI. Because children have a larger surface area to body weight ratio; hypothermia from passive heat loss is one of the anesthesiologists' concerns. MRI requires a cool environment with low humidity; this specialized environment represents a significant thermal challenge to the anesthetized children. Since most temperature devices are not compatible with the MRI, the simple task to measure temperature change has never been investigated.

This study's main specific aims are; 1. To develop robust acquisition and reconstruction methods specifically for the study of microvascular cardiac remodeling with MRI which will include very innovative quantitative perfusion methods, as well as fibrosis quantification, longitudinal strain, and phase contrast imaging for flow. 2. Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM) to Guide Iron Chelating Therapy
Description

The overall goal of this research is to help develop a new magnetic resonance (MR) method, Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM), to improve the measurement of liver iron concentrations without the need for a liver biopsy. Measurement of liver iron is important to diagnose and treat patients who have too much iron in their bodies (iron overload). Liver iron measurements by current MRI methods (R2 and R2\*) can be inaccurate because of the effects of fat, fibrosis and other abnormalities. QSM should not be affected by these factors and should be free of these errors. In this study, MRI measurements (QSM, R2 and R2\*) of iron in patients before liver transplant will be compared with chemical analysis of iron in liver explants (livers removed from patients undergoing liver transplant). The liver explants would otherwise be discarded. Investigators expect that this study will show that the new MRI method, QSM, is superior to the current MRI methods, R2 and R2\*.

Clinical Intervention in Alcohol Use Disorder
Description

Long-term abstinence from alcohol is supported by a compensatory mechanism in functional brain connectivity, a potential brain biomarker that could be an intervention target. These findings provide a compelling case to explore whether this brain biomarker can be modulated to enhance patients' ability to remain abstinent. There is a need to investigate methods that can be used to increase functional brain connectivity. The overall objective of this proposal is to enhance brain functional connectivity in short-term abstinent alcoholics as a therapeutic intervention that supports abstinence.

This exploratory study seeks to examine M1 receptor availability in SZ patients and to relate M1 receptor availability to proximal and distal measures of cognitive performance, namely evoked ɣ oscillations in the EEG and verbal memory. Furthermore, the relationship between hippocampal \[11C\]EMO availability (BPND), evoked ɣ oscillations, verbal memory, and measures of illness severity will be explored.

Description

The purpose of this post approval study is to evaluate the long-term safety of the FDA approved St. Jude Medical Tendril MRI™ lead implanted with a SJM Brady MRI implantable pulse generator (IPG) such as the Accent MRI™, Assurity MRI™, Endurity MRI™ pacemaker, or similar model (SJM Brady MRI System) in subjects with a standard bradycardia pacing indication.
