This phase II trial studies how well sacral nerve stimulation works in treating low anterior resection syndrome or fecal incontinence (the body's passage of stool without control) in patients with rectal cancer that has spread to nearby tissues or lymph nodes, or other pelvic cancer. Sacral nerve stimulation is a permanent implant that may improve bowel functions by stimulating the nerves that control the muscles related to bowel function.
RATIONALE: Infrared coagulator ablation may be effective in preventing the development of anal cancer in patients with anal neoplasia PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying infrared coagulator ablation to see how well it works compared to observation in preventing anal cancer in HIV-positive patients with anal neoplasia.
RATIONALE: Using BG00001 to insert the gene for interferon-beta into a person's pleural cavity may improve the body's ability to fight cancer. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of intrapleural BG00001 in treating patients who have malignant pleural mesothelioma or malignant pleural effusions.
This study is being done to understand how many people with HIV (PWH) present for cancer care across the AIDS Malignancy Consortium in the United States and if there are reasons that some PWH choose to participate, or not in cancer clinical trials. Optional quality of life surveys will be used to learn more about how HIV and cancer and HIV and cancer treatment affect people.
RATIONALE: Interleukin-12 may kill tumor cells by stimulating a person's white blood cells to kill cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of interleukin-12 in treating patients with cancer in the abdomen.
Study CP-MGC018-03 is an open-label, two-part, Phase 2 study. Part 1 of the study will enroll participants with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) previously treated with one prior androgen receptor axis-targeted therapy (ARAT). ARAT includes abiraterone, enzalutamide, or apalutamide. Participants may have received up to 1 prior docetaxel-containing regimen, but no other chemotherapy agents. This part of the study will assess the efficacy and tolerability of vobramitamab duocarmazine (MGC018) in two experimental arms (2.0 mg/kg every 4 weeks \[Q4W\] and 2.7 mg/kg Q4W) . Approximately 100 participants will be randomized 1:1. Part 2 of the study will enroll participants with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors. Participants must have progressive following at least 1 prior line of standard chemotherapy for advanced or metastatic disease. Participants will receive vobramitamab duocarmazine at a dose of 2.7 mg/kg every 4 weeks. Up to 200 participants may be enrolled in Part 2. In both parts, vobramitamab duocarmazine will be administered intravenously (IV) in clinic on Day 1 of each 4-week cycle. Vobramitamab duocarmazine will be administered until criteria for treatment discontinuation are met. Participants will undergo regular testing for signs of disease progression using computed tomography (CT) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), bone scans, and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood tests. Routine examinations and blood tests will be performed and evaluated by the study doctor.
The purpose of this study is to characterize the safety and tolerability of KFA115 and KFA115 in combination with pembrolizumab in patients with select advanced cancers, and to identify the maximum tolerated dose and/or recommended dose.
This phase II trial studies how well radiation therapy works for the treatment of gastrointestinal cancer that are spreading to other places in the body (metastatic). Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. This trial is being done to determine if giving radiation therapy to patients who are being treated with immunotherapy and whose cancers are progressing (getting worse) can slow or stop the growth of their cancers. It may also help researchers determine if giving radiation therapy to one tumor can stimulate the immune system to attack other tumors in the body that are not targeted by the radiation therapy.

This phase II trial studies how well deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) plasmid-encoding interleukin-12/human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA plasmids therapeutic vaccine INO-3112 and durvalumab work in treating patients with human papillomavirus associated cancers that have come back or spread to other places in the body. Vaccines made from a gene-modified virus may help the body build an effective immune response to kill tumor cells. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as durvalumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving DNA plasmid-encoding interleukin-12/HPV DNA plasmids therapeutic vaccine INO-3112 and durvalumab may work better in treating patients with human papillomavirus associated cancers.

PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying an early intervention palliative care program to see how well it works compared to a standard care program in improving end-of-life care in patients with advanced lung , gastrointestinal, genitourinary, or breast cancer.
Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of trastuzumab plus R115777 in treating patients who have advanced or metastatic cancer. Monoclonal antibodies such as trastuzumab can locate tumor cells and either kill them or deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining trastuzumab with R115777 may kill more tumor cells.

Drugs such as capecitabine may make the tumor cells more sensitive to radiation therapy. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of capecitabine in combination with radiation therapy in treating patients who have unresectable, residual, or recurrent colorectal cancer located in the pelvis.
This clinical trial studies the effect of cancer directed therapy given at-home versus in the clinic for patients with cancer that may have spread from where it first started to nearby tissue, lymph nodes, or distant parts of the body (advanced). Currently most drug-related cancer care is conducted in infusion centers or specialty hospitals, where patients spend many hours a day isolated from family, friends, and familiar surroundings. This separation adds to the physical, emotional, social, and financial burden for patients and their families. The logistics and costs of navigating cancer treatments have become a principal contributor to patients' reduced quality of life. It is therefore important to reduce the burden of cancer in the lives of patients and their caregivers, and a vital aspect of this involves moving beyond traditional hospital and clinic-based care and evaluate innovative care delivery models with virtual capabilities. Providing cancer treatment at-home, versus in the clinic, may help reduce psychological and financial distress and increase treatment compliance, especially for marginalized patients and communities.
This study collects blood and tissue samples for research of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)-related cancers. Collecting blood and tissue samples and studying biomarkers in the laboratory may help doctors to learn how are biologic or genetic factors related to HIV and cancers that occur commonly in people living with HIV.
The primary objective of this study, sponsored by Travera Inc. in Massachusetts, is to validate whether the mass response biomarker has potential to predict response of patients to specific therapies or therapeutic combinations using isolated tumor cells from various specimen formats including malignant fluids such as pleural effusions and ascites, core needle biopsies, fine needle aspirates, or resections.
This study investigates changes in physical measures of pelvic health and patient-reported outcomes of sexual function, intimate relationship, and quality of life over time in women undergoing radiation therapy for pelvic cancer. Evaluating vaginal changes prior to and after a course of radiation and collecting patient reported outcomes of sexual function, partner communication, and intimacy may help researchers may help researchers better understand physical changes and symptoms over time.
This phase II trial investigates how well oral cryotherapy plus acupressure and acupuncture compared with oral cryotherapy alone work in decreasing chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in patients with gastrointestinal cancer who are receiving oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy. Acupressure is the application of pressure or localized massage to specific sites on the body to control symptoms such as pain or nausea. Acupuncture is the technique of inserting thin needles through the skin at specific points on the body to control pain and other symptoms. Cryotherapy uses cold temperature such as oral ice chips to prevent abnormally increased pain sensation. Giving oral cryotherapy with acupressure and acupuncture may work better in decreasing chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy from oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy in patients with gastrointestinal cancer compared to oral cryotherapy alone.

Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as atezolizumab and bevacizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.
This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of nivolumab when given with ipilimumab in treating patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) associated classical Hodgkin lymphoma that has returned after a period of improvement (relapsed) or does not respond to treatment (refractory), or solid tumors that have spread from where it first started to other places in the body (metastatic) or cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as ipilimumab and nivolumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Ipilimumab is an antibody that acts against a molecule called cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA-4). CTLA-4 controls a part of the immune system by shutting it down. Nivolumab is a type of antibody that is specific for human programmed cell death 1 (PD-1), a protein that is responsible for destruction of immune cells. Giving ipilimumab with nivolumab may work better in treating patients with HIV associated classical Hodgkin lymphoma or solid tumors compared to ipilimumab with nivolumab alone.
RATIONALE: MS-275 may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of MS-275 in treating patients with advanced solid tumors or lymphoma.
