Biomarker Qualification for Risk of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) Due to Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and Safety and Efficacy Evaluation of Pioglitazone in Delaying Its Onset
Description

The purpose of this study is to qualify the biomarker risk algorithm for prognosis of the risk of developing Mild Cognitive Impairment due to Alzheimer's Disease (MCI-AD), and also to evaluate the efficacy of pioglitazone compared with placebo to delay the onset of MCI-AD in cognitively-normal participants who are at high-risk for developing MCI within 5 years.

RECRUITING
Mindfulness for Cognition in Early-stage Alzheimer's Disease
Description

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if mindfulness meditation can improve outcomes in older adults with and without cognitive impairment. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. How does mindfulness impact thinking and memory? 2. How does mindfulness influence brain function and structure? 3. How does mindfulness affect daily function and quality of life? Researchers will compare all outcomes to one other groups. In one group, individuals will participate in a mindfulness class intervention; in the other group, individuals will not engage in any active interventions immediately, but will be placed on a waitlist for the mindfulness intervention. Researchers will compare all outcomes between the groups groups to determine whether the mindfulness interventions leads to greater improvement compared to no intervention (waitlist group). Participants will: * Be randomly assigned to participate in the mindfulness intervention, or no immediate intervention (waitlist) * Complete paper-and-pencil cognitive testing, surveys, computerized tasks, and neuroimaging measures (EEG and MRI) before and after the intervention Outcomes will be assess at baseline, 2 months, 4 months and 6 months.

Medicare Anti-Aβ mAb Coverage With Evidence Development (CED) Study
Description

The Anti-Aβ mAb CED Study is a prospective, longitudinal coverage with evidence development (CED) study using clinical data, patient assessments, and administrative claims data of the Medicare population, conducted in accordance to the National Coverage Determination (NCD) on Monoclonal Antibodies Directed Against Amyloid for the Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease (AD).

COMPLETED
Effect of IVIG on Cerebral and Retinal Amyloid in Mild Cognitive Impairment Due to Alzheimer Disease
Description

This is a proof of concept study to determine if changes in brain amyloid levels are evident three months after infusion of 0.4 g/kg of IVIG every 14 days x 5 infusions. Amyloid levels will be measured by Florbetapir PET and retinal scan.

RECRUITING
FitMi AD Home Therapy for Individuals With MCI or Mild Dementia Due to Alzheimer's Disease
Description

This study will investigate the efficacy of a newly developed exercise device (FitMi AD) for individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or mild dementia due to Alzheimer's disease. FitMi AD uses embedded sensors that can track and record the patient's direction and degree of movement while performing exercises described on a computer.
