UVA1 Light for Treatment of Scleroderma and Similar Conditions
Description

The purpose of this investigation is to evaluate the effectiveness of an investigational device which is similar in appearance to a "tanning bed" but which emits ultraviolet irradiation of a specific wavelength known as UVA1. This device has not been approved by the FDA for general use in this country, as yet, but it has been used quite successfully in Europe for several years in treating such conditions as scleroderma, keloids, and other fibrosing conditions of the skin. Your participation in this study may yield important information regarding the safety and effectiveness of this form of light therapy for the treatment of these skin conditions which, at present, are difficult to treat.

Pilot Study of Imatinib Mesylate to Treat Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis
Description

The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of imatinib mesylate in reducing cutaneous thickening and tethering in patients with nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF). The study will also work to assess the safety and tolerability of imatinib mesylate in patients with chronic kidney disease and NSF.

Study of Progression to Progressive Fibrosing Interstitial Lung Disease (PF-ILD) Incidence/Management and Treatment
Description

The primary objective for this trial is to investigate the incidence probability of progression to Progressive Fibrosing Interstitial Lung Diseases (PF-ILDs) in patients with fibrosing ILD other than Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) in real-world setting in Japan. The secondary objective is to investigate the characteristics of procedures for management and treatment in patients with fibrosing ILD other than IPF in real-world setting in Japan.

A Study to Find Out Whether BI 1015550 Improves Lung Function in People With Progressive Fibrosing Interstitial Lung Diseases (PF-ILDs)
Description

This study is open to adults with Progressive Fibrosing Interstitial Lung Diseases (PF-ILDs). People who have a form of PF-ILD other than Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) can join the study. If they already take nintedanib, they can continue treatment throughout the study. The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called BI 1015550 helps people with PF-ILD. Participants are put into 3 groups randomly, which means by chance. Participants in 2 groups take different doses of BI 1015550 as tablets twice a day. Participants in the placebo group take placebo tablets twice a day. Placebo tablets look like BI 1015550 tablets but do not contain any medicine. Participants are in the study for up to two and a half years. During the first year, they visit the study site 10 times. Afterwards, they visit the study site every 3 months. The doctors regularly test participants' lung function. The results of the lung function tests are compared between the groups. The doctors also regularly check participants' health and take note of any unwanted effects.

Description

The main objective is to assess long term tolerability and safety of treatment with oral nintedanib in patients with Progressive Fibrosing Interstitial Lung Disease (PF-ILD) who have complete (and did not prematurely discontinue trial medication in) the phase III parent trial, INBUILD® (trial 1199.247).

Efficacy and Safety of Nintedanib in Patients With Progressive Fibrosing Interstitial Lung Disease (PF-ILD)
Description

The aim of the current study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of nintedanib over 52 weeks in patients with Progressive Fibrosing Interstitial Lung Disease (PF-ILD) defined as patients who present with features of diffuse fibrosing lung disease of \>10% extent on high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) and whose lung function and respiratory symptoms or chest imaging have worsened despite treatment with unapproved medications used in clinical practice to treat ILD. There is currently no efficacious treatment available for PF-ILD. Based on its efficacy and safety in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), it is anticipated that Nintedanib will be a new treatment option for patients with PF-ILD.

Efficacy & Safety of Nintedanib in Patients With Progressive Fibrosing Coal Mine Dust-Induced Interstitial Lung Disease
Description

Assess efficacy (as measured by annual rate of decline in FVC) and safety. The hypothesis is that nintedanib will be safe and effective therapy for patients with progressive fibrosing CMD-ILD over a period of 52 weeks. Test Article - Nintedanib 150 mg administered PO twice daily or matching placebo. A total of 160 patients meeting inclusion/exclusion criteria will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio to either oral nintedanib 150 mg (n=80) or matching placebo (n=80) twice daily. A randomization scheme will be used that balances the group for potential confounders (proportion with PMF or small opacity-only PF-CMD_ILD and proportion of ever- or never-smokers). The dose of the study drug may be reduced to 100 mg twice daily or interrupted temporarily to manage adverse events (AEs).

A Phase 2 Trial of ENV-101 in Patients With Lung Fibrosis (WHISTLE-PF Trial)
Description

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the impact that ENV-101 has on lung function and key measures of fibrosis in adult patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF). Another goal of this study is to better understand the safety and tolerability of ENV-101 in these patient populations.

Description

The purpose of this research study is to build and maintain a registry of people with interstitial lung disease (ILD). Medical information collected for this registry may be used to advance ILD and pulmonary research and improve patient care. This is an observational registry. Participants will not receive any investigational treatments or investigational drugs as part of their participation in this registry.

A Pilot Study of Aerosol Interferon-gamma for Treatment of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis
Description

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive disease for which there is no effective treatment. Interferon-gamma is a medication that has been used for other lung diseases to decrease scarring and fibrosis. Studies of interferon-gamma injected under the skin did not show any improvement in survival in patients with IPF. We hypothesize that giving interferon-gamma as a nebulized mist directly into the lungs can affect the immune system in a way that decreases fibrosis.
