COMPLETED
Lidocaine for Pain After Urodynamic Testing
Description

Urodynamic testing can be associated with mild discomfort, particularly at the time of insertion, repositioning, and removal of the bladder catheter (a tube inserted into the bladder via the urethra). Few studies have investigated ways to improve patient comfort during this procedure. In this study, the investigators want to see if applying external lidocaine (a numbing gel) prior to the procedure can help to minimize patient discomfort.

RECRUITING
Effectiveness of Phenazopyridine for Pain Following Urodynamics
Description

The purpose of the study is to determine if taking phenazopyridine (AZO) at the time of urodynamic study testing will decrease pain experienced by patients after undergoing urodynamic testing.

WITHDRAWN
Heating Pad for in Office Cystoscopy and Urodynamic Testing
Description

Patient frequently report experiencing discomfort associated with cystoscopy or urodynamic studies (UDS), and a small percentage of patients refuse these important procedures due to discomfort or fear of discomfort. Heating pads are an inexpensive and low-risk way to reduce patient discomfort during these procedures, which to our knowledge has not been investigated in the United States.

COMPLETED
Lubricant Versus Lidocaine Gel for Pain Control During Urodynamics
Description

The purpose of this study is to determine a difference in patient reported pain levels before, during, and after multichannel urodynamics in patients treated with 2% lidocaine gel or water based lubricant. We hypothesize that lidocaine gel will decrease pain levels when compared to lubricant gel.
