RECRUITING
Ketorolac Levels in Vitreous and Aqueous Samples From Patients Undergoing Combined Cataract and Pars Plana Vitrectomy Surgeries With and Without Intracameral Phenylephrine 1.0% / Ketorolac 0.3%
Description

This is a clinical trial evaluating Ketorolac levels in vitreous and aqueous humor samples from patients undergoing combined cataract and pars plana vitrectomy surgeries with and without intracameral phenylephrine 1.0% / ketorolac 0.3% (OMIDRIA). Patients not receiving intracameral OMIDRIA will receive topical ketorolac prior to cataract surgery/pars plana vitrectomy.

Conditions
RECRUITING
Dropless Pars Plana Vitrectomy Study
Description

To demonstrate that intraoperative use of subtenon triamcinolone acetonide at the time of surgery without postoperative eye drops is non-inferior to the regimen of postoperative eye drops following primary pars plana vitrectomy for retinal detachment.

COMPLETED
Ozurdex for Diabetic Macular Edema Treated With Pars Plana vitrEctomy and Membrane RemovAl (OPERA Study)
Description

This study will examine the use of the dexamethasone implant (Ozurdex) in patients with macular edema associated with an epiretinal or preretinal membrane requiring surgical intervention. After the surgery is performed (pars plana vitrectomy), an Ozurdex implant will be placed in the eye. Patients will be followed for 1 year.

COMPLETED
Observational Study of Ocular Inflammation in Patients Undergoing a Pars Plana Vitrectomy
Description

This study will evaluate the degree of post-operative ocular inflammation in patients who are undergoing a pars plana vitrectomy.

Conditions
COMPLETED
Effect of Topical Aqueous Suppressants on Intraocular Gas Duration Following Pars Plana Vitrectomy
Description

The purpose of this study is to see if glaucoma eye drops (dorzolamide-timolol) have any effect on the duration of an intraocular gas bubble following pars plana vitrectomy.

COMPLETED
Pharmacokinetics of the Brimonidine Tartrate Posterior Segment Delivery System in Patients Undergoing Pars Plana Vitrectomy
Description

This study will evaluate the pharmacokinetics of brimonidine following a single intravitreal administration of the 200 ug or 400 ug Brimonidine Tartrate Posterior Segment Drug Delivery System in patients 2, 4 or 8 weeks prior to undergoing a pars plana vitrectomy.

Conditions
TERMINATED
SAR 1118 in Human Subjects Undergoing Pars Plana Vitrectomy
Description

The purpose of this study is to determine the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of SAR 1118 within the anterior and posterior chamber of the eye and plasma in subjects undergoing elective vitrectomy when treated with escalating concentrations of the study drug for approximately 1 week.

COMPLETED
27-gauge Vitrectomy Wound Integrity: a Prospective, Randomized Trial Comparing Angled Versus Straight Entry
Description

To prospectively compare clinical outcomes using straight (perpendicular) versus angled trocar insertion during 27 gauge pars plana vitrectomy surgery for epiretinal membrane Primary Endpoints: Sclerotomy suture rates and incidence of suture blebs at the end of 27 gauge MIVS. Secondary Endpoints: Rate of postoperative wound-related complications such as hypotony, choroidal detachments, endophthalmitis, and sclerotomy-related retinal tears with a minimum follow-up of 30 days.

COMPLETED
Thrombospondin-1 and Pigmented Epithelium Derived Factor Levels in Patients With Diabetes Mellitus.
Description

You are being asked to be in a research study to determine blood levels and vitreous levels of compounds called thrombospondin 1 (TSP1) and pigment epithelium derived factor (PEDF). These compounds exists naturally in your body.

TERMINATED
Safety and Effectiveness of Ozurdex Steroid Implants for DME After Vitrectomy Surgery
Description

Currently medications injected intravitreally in previously vitrectomized eyes have a very short half-life due to enhanced clearance of the drug. The use of the Ozurdex (dexamethasone) implant may allow sustained levels of steroid delivery to patients with diabetic macular edema that have undergone prior vitrectomy. The sustained steroid levels may lead to improved central retinal thickness measurements and improved visual acuity.

COMPLETED
23 Gauge and 20 Gauge Vitrectomy for Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachments
Description

This study is a comparison (23 gauge vs 20 gauge instrumentation) of surgical instrumentation for retinal detachment repair.

TERMINATED
Dexamethasone Intravitreal Implant After Vitrectomy For Epiretinal Membrane
Description

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of dexamethasone intravitreal implant (Ozurdex) in combination with pars plana vitrectomy and membrane peeling for idiopathic epiretinal membrane (ERM).

COMPLETED
Intravitreal Injection Site and Perceived Pain
Description

The objective of this study is to explore the perception of pain during intravitreal injection related to the distance of the entry site from the limbus.
