11 Clinical Trials for Various Conditions
The goal of this randomized clinical trial is to test the effect of patient education on extent of use of guideline directed medical treatment (GDMT) of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. The main question that our study aims to answer is if patient education can improve the adherence to GDMT in heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. Participants will receive educations about GDMT benefits in 1,3 and 5 months after discharge from hospital.
This study evaluates how Veterans with chronic low back pain (cLBP) respond to varying doses of chiropractic therapy and how health services utilization are impacted as a result. There are 2 phases in this study. In Phase 1, half of participants will receive a low dose (1-5 visits) of chiropractic care for 10 weeks, while the other half will receive a higher dose (8-12 visits) for 10 weeks. At the end of Phase 1, participants in each group will be randomized again to receive either chronic chiropractic pain management (CCPM) (1 scheduled chiropractic visit per month x 10 months) or no CCPM for 10 months.
The Network Supported Engagement in Care (NSEC) intervention is a brief, theory based and culturally sensitive intervention designed to capitalize on organic yet underutilized social support networks in the lives of young black men who have sex with men (YBMSM) who have been recently diagnosed with HIV. The intervention has been developed with input from clients and their support network members, case managers, social workers, HIV primary care providers and pastoral care at a Federally Qualified Health Center. The goal of the intervention is to improve retention in care for newly diagnosed YBMSM who present for their first HIV primary care clinic appointment.
This study will serve as one of the first to develop and test the effectiveness of strategies to promote HPV vaccination among diverse rural parents and caregivers of children ages 9-17 years in the Mountain West. Once implemented into practice, our intervention could significantly reduce disparities in the burden of HPV-associated cancers among rural populations in the United States. The proposed study will assess the effectiveness of clinic-based outreach to increase vaccination rates for HPV at four community clinics in rural counties in Washington. This study is a boot camp translation to tailor messaging based on patient and provider input The proposed study includes the following: (1) boot camp translation to tailor messaging based on patient and provider input; (2) PREVENT randomized controlled trial (RCT) that will assign adult parent/caregiver participants to a timeline for receiving intervention; and (3) qualitative interviews with parents/caregivers, providers, and other healthcare team members and development of best practices, implementation guides and dissemination of findings for other clinics to implement the program on a broader scale. At the end of the trial, personal interviews with parents/caregivers, clinical staff, and providers will be conducted to understand reactions to the program and persistent barriers to initiating and completing HPV vaccination.

This study will refine intervention components and messages to increase HPV vaccination among rural children and adolescents (C/A). The research team will use a validated patient-engaged approach for parents/caregivers (P/Cs), Bootcamp Translation (BCT), with separate sessions conducted in English and Spanish.
Each year the human papillomavirus (HPV) causes 30,000 cancers in the United States despite the availability of very effective and safe vaccines. Uptake of the HPV vaccine has been disappointingly low and lags behind other adolescent vaccines. This study seeks to test interventions targeting health care system, provider, and patient factors to improve the population uptake of the HPV vaccine.
This study will determine whether practicing primary care providers (PCPs) can be trained to support patient self-care of depression and co-existing diabetes during office visits, and begin to explore whether this might improve depression and diabetes outcomes, and whether the effects of the training generalize to patients with health conditions other than depression and diabetes. This is important because most patients with chronic conditions struggle with self-care and are seen in primary care, yet PCPs are seldom trained to support self-care.
The study investigators have developed an interactive multimedia computer program that provides personally tailored education about colorectal cancer screening in the user's preferred language (English or Spanish). In this study, the investigators will examine whether use of the computer program increases the number of Hispanic patients who receive colorectal cancer screening and lessens or eliminates the glaring disparity in screening between Hispanics and non-Hispanic whites.
The goal of this pilot clinical trial is to determine feasibility and explore whether immediate versus delayed patient financial incentives improve patient engagement with self-monitoring of blood pressure in patients with uncontrolled hypertension at Louisiana federally qualified health centers (FQHCs). The main questions it aims to answer are: * Do patients randomized to receive financial incentives on a weekly basis during the study (immediate) have better adherence to blood pressure self-monitoring compared to patients randomized to receive financial incentives at the end of the study (delayed)? * Do patients randomized to immediate financial incentives have better blood pressure control compared to patients randomized to delayed incentives? Participants will: * attend a baseline visit to measure blood pressure, respond to a baseline survey, and receive remote patient monitoring devices and instructions to take home with them (home blood pressure monitor, wrist-worn sensor to track sleep activity, and associated apps) * receive a random allocation to one of two groups: control condition (receive cash incentives at the end of the study for measuring blood pressure as instructed) or intervention condition (receive weekly cash incentives throughout the study for measuring blood pressure as instructed) * use remote patient monitoring devices during a two month study period, receive weekly reports on adherence to blood pressure monitoring, and receive weekly financial incentives (intervention condition only) * attend one follow-up visit at 2 months to measure their blood pressure, complete a follow-up survey, return the remote patient monitoring devices, and receive financial incentives for blood pressure monitoring (control condition only) Researchers will compare the immediate and delayed incentive groups to see if there are differences in blood pressure monitoring adherence rates and blood pressure control.
The goal of this pilot clinical trial is to determine feasibility and explore whether financial incentives paid to primary care patients for completing colorectal cancer screening increase completion of colorectal cancer screening. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Do patient financial incentives for completing colorectal cancer screening increase screening completion? * Does a patient financial incentive for colorectal cancer screening offered alongside patient financial incentives for COVID-19 and flu shots increase completion of those shots? Participants who are due for colorectal cancer screening will receive telephone outreach from primary care staff who will offer a stool-based colorectal cancer screening. Participants will be randomly assigned to either Group 1 or Group 2. Group 1 participants will be offered financial incentives for completing COVID-19 and flu shots within 2 months of enrollment. Group 2 participants will be offered financial incentives for completing a COVID-19 shot, a flu shot, and colorectal cancer screening within 2 months of enrollment. Researchers will compare to see if completion of a COVID-19 shot, a flu shot, and colorectal cancer screening is different between the two groups.
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an ambient listening AI product, DAX CoPilot, in improving clinical documentation efficiency and reducing clinician burnout in primary care settings. Researchers will compare results from a group who was given a license to use DAX CoPilot to a group who was not given a license. Participants in the DAX group will use DAX CoPilot system for EHR documentation and participants in the control group will use use standard EHR documentation methods. Participants will also be asked to complete surveys and assessments related to their views on technology and experiences of burnout.
