TERMINATED
Bovine Carotid Artery Biologic Graft and Expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene for Permanent Hemodialysis Access
Description

The investigators propose a randomized study to compare bovine carotid artery (BCA) biologic grafts and expanded polytetrafluoroethylene grafts (ePTFE) for permanent hemodialysis access.

COMPLETED
Comparison of Bovine Carotid Artery and Expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) for Permanent Hemodialysis Access
Description

The investigators did a randomized control trial comparing bovine carotid artery grafts with ePTFE grafts for patients that need hemodialysis access. The goal of the study was to determine differences in primary and assisted patency rates and frequency of complications between these two types of grafts. The investigators' hypothesis was that bovine carotid artery grafts more closely mimic autologous tissue and therefore, would provide better patency and fewer complications.

TERMINATED
Study to Evaluate the Performance and Safety of Expedial and Compare it to Expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) Vascular Access Grafts
Description

The purpose of this study is to establish the substantial equivalence of Expedial and ePTFE grafts for effectiveness in maintaining primary or assisted primary patency.

COMPLETED
FS VH S/D 500 S-apr in Vascular Surgery
Description

The purpose of this study was to compare safety and efficacy of FS VH S/D 500 s-apr (FS) versus manual compression in prosthetic expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) graft placement.

COMPLETED
Synthetic Mesh Explant Study
Description

The purpose of this study is to determine whether synthetic hernia mesh materials undergo physical and/or chemical changes while in the body.

COMPLETED
A 14 Weeks Longitudinal Study to Investigate the Effect of Leukocyte- Platelet Rich Fibrin Plug on the Quality of the Newly Formed Bone in Ridge Preservation Procedure Following a Tooth Extraction. It is a Clinical, Radiographic and Histomorphometric Study.
Description

This 14 weeks longitudinal study will be conducted from March 2018 to June 2020, with a 40 participants. No subjects has received placebo medication at any point in the research procedures. Null hypothesis: The use of L-PRF plug, in combination with non-resorbable, open barrier membrane technique to fill the extraction sockets will have no effect on the quality of the newly formed bone nor on the dimensional changes of the ridge, compared to non-resorbable, open barrier membrane technique with natural blood clot.

COMPLETED
Safety and Efficacy Study of Fibrin Sealant Grifols as an Adjunct to Hemostasis During Peripheral Vascular Surgery
Description

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that the application of Fibrin Sealant Grifols provides a measurable benefit when compared to hemostasis achieved through conventional surgical technique (suture) and by standard hemostatic action, such as mechanical pressure through manual compression. This study has a Preliminary Part (I) in which all subjects are treated with Fibrin Sealant Grifols and a Primary Part (II) in which subjects are randomized in a 2:1 ratio to either Fibrin Sealant Grifols or manual compression.
