Native Spirit: Significant Aim 3: Intervention
Description

The proposed research will used community-based participatory research methods in an urban-based American Indian (AI) community to adapt, implement, and evaluate an after-school program, called Native Spirit (NS), that seeks to improve cultural identity, self-esteem, resilience, and prevent substance use by increasing cultural engagement. Prior research suggests that AI youth that are culturally engaged experience better health outcomes. Additionally, the use of culturally-specific after-school programs has been shown to increase feasibility and sustainability of prevention programs. In order to achieve the goals of this proposed study, the Principal Investigator (PI) will work with local community members and existing tribal partners to implement the 10-session culturally-grounded after-school program and evaluate the program with the following aims: Specific Aim 3 (R00): Examine the effectiveness of NS (increases exposure to local cultural values and activities), a program that seeks to prevent or decrease substance use by strengthening self-esteem, resilience, and cultural identity with 2 Indigenous communities in Arizona using a wait-list control design with 3 data collection timepoints and participant interviews.

Scaling Out S.A.F.E. Firearm Across Two Health Systems as a Universal Suicide Prevention Strategy (SCALE ASPIRE)
Description

In this randomized controlled trial, researchers will assess the expansion of the S.A.F.E. Firearm program into adult primary care and women's health at two health systems in Michigan and Colorado that have previously implemented S.A.F.E. Firearm in pediatrics. S.A.F.E. Firearm involves a brief conversation between health care staff and patients about secure firearm storage and an offer of a free firearm cable lock. Researchers will test S.A.F.E. Firearm and a package of strategies intended to help health care staff incorporate the program into their practice. The strategies include: training, a prompt in the electronic health record, and facilitation, or tailored problem-solving support. The study seeks to answer the following questions: * How effective is S.A.F.E. Firearm at changing patients' firearm storage behavior? * How effective is the implementation strategy package at increasing delivery of the S.A.F.E. Firearm program? Some patients and health care staff will be invited to participate in surveys and/or interviews about their experiences with S.A.F.E. Firearm and the implementation strategy package.

Effectiveness of the Adapt for Life, Mental Wellness and Suicide Prevention Program
Description

Adapt for Life is a mental health and wellbeing program designed to help young people develop healthy behaviors and important life skills to manage stress and mental health challenges. The program is a collaboration between Adapt for Life and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Purpose of the Study: The primary purpose of the Adapt for Life study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the ADAPT framework in improving mental health outcomes for students. The framework includes steps such as Ask, Describe, Assess, Plan, and Talk, which are designed to help students tackle stress during everyday moments or in times of crisis. Question the Study is Trying to Answer: The study seeks to answer whether the ADAPT framework can significantly improve students' ability to manage stress, recognize mental health issues, and seek appropriate help. It aims to determine if the program can reduce instances of harmful behaviors and improve overall mental wellbeing among participants.

Development of PRECISE: a Data Driven Personalized Suicide Prevention Intervention
Description

Individuals at high-risk of suicide vary substantially from one another. Over time, risk factors for suicide may change within the same individual. Despite these differences, most treatments for suicidal thoughts assume that the same intervention works equally well for all individuals at high-risk of suicide. Intensive longitudinal data combined with network science, integrated with coaching, could be used to personalize suicide prevention interventions to make them more effective and efficient. This K23 Career Development application involves refining and testing a novel personalized treatment for individuals at high-risk called PeRsonalizEd Clinical Intervention for Suicidal Events or PRECISE. PRECISE leverages idiographic statistical techniques adopted from network science applied to ecological momentary assessment data to inform the tailoring of Safety Planning and skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, two existing evidence-based treatments for suicide. In Aim 1, a user-centered design approach will be used to refine PRECISE. Following the refinement of the intervention, informed by data from a case series in Aim 1, the investigators will then conduct a randomized controlled trial comparing two different intensities of personalization. In the low-intensity arm, the 8-week treatment will be tailored based on an initial two-week burst of ecological momentary assessment and one idiographic model. In the high-intensity arm, participants complete eight weeks of ecological momentary assessment and idiographic models are generated between each session. Coaches use the idiographic models to identify an individuals' drivers of suicidal thoughts and conduct behavioral chain analyses to tailor specific skills to then teach, shape, and reinforce in their individual clients. Assessments are completed pre-treatment, 8-weeks post-enrollment, and 16-weeks enrollment. The investigators hypothesize that both arms will demonstrate clinically significant reductions in suicidal ideation, but the high-intensity arm will be superior to the low-intensity arm in reducing ideation. Furthermore, the investigators anticipate that increases in effective emotion regulation skills and reductions in negative affect will account for the decrease in suicidal ideation. As individuals learn more effective emotion regulation strategies, they will experience less distress and thereby lower levels of suicidal ideation. This project is responsive to Objective 3.2 of the NIMH Strategic Plan and is integrated with a mentored research training plan focused on 1) suicide specific rigorous clinical trials, 2) user centered design in digital health, and 3) applications of network science to intensive longitudinal data. The project and training goal will support the Candidate's overarching goal to become a clinician-scientist engaged in independent research on personalized, impactful, rapid acting suicide prevention interventions for at risk adults.

Qnnections: Refinement and Pilot Trial of a Suicide Prevention Intervention to Increase Social Connection
Description

Despite the high risk of suicide among LGBTQ+ Veterans, there is currently no suicide-focused intervention for this population. This study will refine and pilot Qnnections, a novel group-based suicide prevention intervention that aims to increase social connection and functioning in this population. The project will involve Veterans with lived experience in further refining Qnnections, and then will examine feasibility and acceptability of Qnnections and of study procedures in a pilot randomized clinical trial.

Practice Facilitation to Enhance Implementation of a Pediatric Suicide Prevention Pathway
Description

Suicide in youth is rapidly growing to where it is the second leading cause of death across the United States. Use of available tools have shown the potential to boost primary care providers' (PCPs) detection of suicide risk and confidence and knowledge around addressing it; however, ways that work to address clinic and provider barriers that influence the ongoing implementation of a pathway to manage at-risk patients remain under researched. The proposed study will assess the impact of the investigators Facilitated Suicide Prevention program--which provides support to assist practices in integrating screening, assessment, data analysis and management procedures into routine care through feedback and coaching--on clinic use of the suicide prevention pathway and youth suicide. The project hypothesizes that compared to PCPs in Training Only (TO) practices, those in TO+Practice Facilitation (PF) may rate the care pathway as more able to be carried out and acceptable; demonstrate greater use of the pathway components (screening, risk assessment, safety planning, lethal means safety counseling, referrals and follow-up); demonstrate higher levels of use of the pathway suicide prevention skills ; and report higher levels of confidence putting the care pathway into use. Also we predict that, compared to youth who screen positive for suicide risk and are followed by PCPs in TO practices, those who screen positive and are followed by PCPs in TO+PF practices will be less likely to attempt suicide during the next six months; less likely to have suicidal ideation during the next 6 months; more likely to see a behavioral health provider during the next 6 months; and less likely to be sent to Emergency Departments during the next 6 months .

Suicide Prevention After Community Care Discharge
Description

The study is of high importance to Veterans' health because it will study a suicide prevention intervention in a Veteran population that is at high risk of suicide but has not been a specific focus of the Veteran Affairs' (VA's) suicide prevention efforts. Specifically, a growing number of Veterans are now receiving acute mental health treatment in VA-purchased settings (commonly referred to as Community Care). While these Veterans are at high risk of suicide after discharge, very little is known about how to prevent suicide in these Veterans. This study will directly address this problem by looking at whether a promising suicide prevention strategy called the VA Brief Intervention and Contact Program (VA BIC) can decrease the risk of suicide in Veterans after they are discharged from a non-VA mental health treatment setting. The proposed research is highly pertinent to the VA's top clinical priority-to prevent suicide in Veterans.

Participatory Research for Suicide Prevention in Autism
Description

The goal of this study is to pilot test a new educational intervention for organization members focused on suicide prevention for autistic people. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does participating in the intervention increase participants' knowledge, skills, and actions to support suicide prevention for autistic people? * What feedback do participants have to help improve the intervention? Participants will: * engage in a four-part virtual educational intervention * answer questions via online survey before, after, and 3-months after the intervention * participate in an optional interview to provide feedback

Army-SPRING Army-Suicide Prevention Research
Description

Every unit in the Connecticut Army National Guard has a Suicide Intervention Officer to provide suicide intervention education awareness for their unit, monitor for soldiers in crisis and connect soldiers with helping resources and agencies. Suicide Intervention Officers need support in this difficult role, yet there is limited guidance on how to help them. This study will shed light on how to support Suicide Intervention Officers and whether this support results in reduced suicide risk in their units.

Optimizing Suicide Prevention Strategies for Pediatric Primary Care
Description

Increasing rates of suicidal thoughts and behaviors among adolescents must be addressed. The study will adapt and collect preliminary effectiveness data on a digital suicide prevention intervention that can be delivered in pediatric primary care settings by front line pediatricians. The study has the potential to offer a low-cost and scalable primary care intervention that may decrease risk of suicide among at-risk youth.

Suicide Prevention Program for Veterans Discharged From Community Care Settings
Description

The goal of this pilot randomized controlled trial is to test an adapted suicide prevention program (the Building VA Engagement, Self-efficacy, and Social Support To Prevent Suicide or BESST) in rural Veterans discharged from community care mental health treatment settings. The main question it aims to answer is: * Does BESST combined with standard care improve suicide-related outcomes among this population compared to standard care alone? Participants will be assigned by change to a treatment group. Some will receive the BESST intervention combined with standard care, and some will receive standard care alone. All participants will be in this research study for up to three months. Those receiving the BESST intervention will have: * 1 one-hour brief educational session; * Seven follow-up check-ins (\~30 minutes each) All participants will have three assessment interviews where they will be asked about their mental health and treatment received outside of the VA. The investigators will compare participants assigned to the BESST intervention combined with standard care vs participants assigned to standard care alone to see if the BESST intervention improves suicide-related outcomes.

Development of a Treatment Prognosis Calculator for the Prevention of Suicide
Description

The goal of this interventional study is to develop and test a treatment prognosis calculator to identify which service members with suicidal ideation or behavior are likely to respond well to the current standard of care treatment and which should instead receive Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (BCBT) as a first-line treatment. The main aims of the study are: * Aim 1: To develop a novel treatment prognostic calculator to predict response to treatment as usual (TAU) and identify treatment-seeking military personnel who are unlikely to respond adequately to TAU for the reduction of suicidal ideation. * Aim 2: To evaluate the performance of the treatment prognosis calculator in a new sample of treatment-seeking military personnel and determine whether BCBT is more effective than TAU for those patients who are predicted not to respond adequately to TAU. Participants will receive mental health treatment as it is typically administered by their mental healthcare treatment team. Members of their mental healthcare treatment team may receive intensive training in BCBT. After their provider has received this training, they may use this treatment as part of standard of care treatment. The timing of this training will be determined randomly. Participants will complete self-report assessments at the beginning of the study (baseline) as well as 3, 6, 9 and 12 months after their participant begins. These assessments will include questions about feelings, thoughts, moods, impulses, substance use, and behavior.

Maintaining Implementation Through Dynamic Adaptations (MIDAS) Suicide Prevention 2.0 Clinical Telehealth
Description

Scientific advances are constantly leading to better treatments. However, it is quite challenging for healthcare systems, including VA, to ask very busy providers to change the way they practice. The MIDAS QUERI program helps providers improve the way they treat VA patients. This project will focus on increasing referrals to the Suicide Prevention 2.0 Clinical Telehealth (SP 2.0) initiative through the delivery of Academic Detailing and LEAP (a team-based quality improvement program). SP 2.0 provides accessible, evidence-based suicide prevention treatment to all Veterans with a history of suicidal self-directed violence or preparatory behaviors in the past 12 months.

Development and Testing of ImHere4U: a Digital Suicide Prevention Intervention for Cyberbullied Adolescents
Description

The objective of this study is to test the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of Flourish (formerly referred to as imHere4U), a digital suicide prevention intervention for cyberbullied adolescents. The specific aims are to: Aim #1: Conduct a randomized controlled trial (RCT) comparing Flourish+Questionnaires vs. Questionnaires Alone among cyberbullied youth at-risk for suicide ages 12-17 (N=80, \>35% underserved youth). H2a. Primary outcome: Feasibility will be evidenced by recruitment/retention rates \> 80% and imHere4U engagement \> 70%. H2b. Secondary outcomes: Youth assigned to Flourish+Questionnaires will report improved problem-solving capacity, distress tolerance, and motivation and reduced distress and suicidal ideation than youth assigned to Questionnaires Alone over the 6-month follow-up period. Exploratory Aim: Examine the feasibility of delivering feedback on online interactions from machine learning algorithms. All youth assigned to Flourish may optionally provide their social media data to receive feedback from machine learning algorithms. H3a. Feedback from algorithms will have high acceptability (identified via qualitative themes and \>70% acceptance rates) and usability, defined by mean scores on Post-Study System and Usability Questionnaire (PSSUQ) \> 6.

Suicide Prevention for Substance Using Youth Experiencing Homelessness
Description

Suicide is the leading cause of death among YEH and most youth do not access services that may be available to them. Therefore, this study seeks to address this gap in the research literature with the goal to identify an effective intervention that can be readily adopted by communities that serve these youth. We will test the effects of outreach-worker delivered Cognitive Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CTSP)+Services as Usual (SAU) versus SAU alone on suicidal ideation (primary outcome), substance use and depressive symptoms (secondary outcomes) at 3, 6, 9 and 12- months.

The BH-Works Suicide Prevention Program for Sexual and Gender Minority Youth
Description

Youth suicide is a serious public health concern. Compared to their heterosexual and cisgender peers, sexual and gender minority (SGM) adolescents report higher rates of suicidal ideation and suicide attempts. Unfortunately, many barriers complicate the implementation of suicide prevention in SGM communities. SGM youth often report feeling unwelcome in traditional behavioral health service organizations. Consequently, treatment attendance and retention remain low. Instead, this population generally seeks mental health services in community organizations for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) youth. These organizations are often unprepared for this clinical challenge. The Behavioral Health-Works (BH-Works) suicide risk management system may offer a potential solution to this problem. BH-Works is an evidence-based, comprehensive youth suicide prevention program. It offers support for policy development, staff training, suicide and behavioral health screening, technology-assisted safety planning, an electronic patient referral system, real-time data analytics for program monitoring, and a learning collaborative structure to support sustainability. All functions are supported on a web-based software platform that facilitates cross-system communication, implementation, adoption, and expansion. In this project, the investigators will adapt this program for LGBTQ organizations and test feasibility, acceptability and preliminary effectiveness. This project builds upon robust partnerships with two diverse LGBTQ organizations in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and rural Southwest, Virginia) and their respective behavioral health (BH) partnering sites. To facilitate BH-Works adaptation for SGM adolescents, the investigators will employ the Enhancing Engagement trajectory from Lau's cultural adaptation framework. To pilot the program within LGBTQ organizations and their partners, the investigators will use an Effectiveness-Implementation Hybrid Type 2 design with a historical comparison group. Informed by the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research, the investigators will also pilot test a sequenced implementation strategy. This strategy focuses on promoting engagement, building partnerships, and creating sustainability. In Years 1 and 2, the investigators will collect treatment as usual data, and work with their partners to adapt BH-Works policy, content, practices, and workflow. The investigators will also train staff/providers in suicide risk management, family engagement and affirmative care. In Years 3 and 4, the investigators will test the adapted SGM BH-Works Program and examine several essential program targets (training impact, partnership development, software usability) and outcomes (successful referral, program satisfaction, caregiver involvement, suicide identification).

Written Exposure Therapy for Suicide Prevention
Description

Military service members admitted to inpatient psychiatry for self-injurious thoughts and behaviors (SITBs) represent an at-risk group for continued SITBs and rehospitalizations in the post-discharge period. However, there is an absence of evidence-based interventions designed to be delivered on inpatient psychiatric units to reduce the risk of post-discharge SITBs. To address this gap, the investigator's research group developed Written Exposure Therapy for Suicide Prevention (WET-SP), a brief, scalable, suicide-specific psychotherapy based on the written disclosure paradigm. Written disclosure, in which an individual writes about a personally stressful experience and the related thoughts and feelings, yields improvements across physical and psychiatric domains. Pilot data suggest that written exposure also yields reductions in SITBs. Yet, no study has adapted the written exposure paradigm specifically to target the amelioration of distress associated with suicidal crises and examined whether implementing WET-SP reduces the risk of subsequent SITBs and suicide-related hospitalizations. The primary objective of this randomized controlled trial (RCT) is to evaluate the efficacy of WET-SP, in reducing the incidence and severity of SITBs in active duty military service members following a psychiatric hospitalization due to suicidal ideation, suicide plans, or a suicide attempt. Secondary objectives are to evaluate a potential mechanism of change (i.e., decreases in thwarted belongingness \[cf. social disconnectedness\]) and moderator of outcomes (i.e., arc of narrative \[cf. linguistical parameters of the written narratives generated during treatment\]). Participants randomized to WET-SP + TAU will receive five sessions of WET-SP delivered by the study team during their psychiatric hospitalization plus treatment-as-usual (TAU). Participants randomized to TAU will receive daily contact and patient-centered care delivered by the acute psychiatric inpatient unit provider team (e.g., psychiatrists, therapists, case managers). TAU includes psychiatric assessment, initial stabilization, nurse case management, medication management, treatment of medical comorbidities, group and individual therapy, and discharge planning. Outcome assessments will be administered at pretreatment, posttreatment, and 10-, 20-, and 30-week follow-ups.

SAFETY-A for Promoting Equity in Suicide Prevention Outcomes in Schools
Description

This study will adapt Safe Alternatives For Teens and Youth - Acute (SAFETY-A) for implementation in low-resourced school districts to reduce racial/ethnic disparities in mental health service use (MHS) following identification of suicide risk in youth. SAFETY-A will be adapted to fit the organizational context of school districts and to reduce mistrust of MHS, internalized stigma, and concealment of youth emotional distress that arise in school suicide risk assessments with Asian American and Latinx students. Following a prototyping case series, a feasibility trial will assign four districts to the timing of SAFETY-A implementation to generate preliminary data on feasibility and impacts on proposed mechanisms and youth MHS utilization and clinical outcomes across racial/ethnic groups.

Development and Feasibility Testing of a Suicide Prevention Intervention for Sexual and Gender Minority Youth
Description

This study aims to develop and test a brief, digital, suicide prevention intervention for sexual and gender minority (SGM) youth who have experienced cyberbullying. Leading up to this phase, the study team completed two prior study aims, focused on identifying perspectives of SGM youth's regarding their experiences with cyberbullying and priorities for an intervention, and a phase in which SGM youth codesigned the study's intervention with the study team. This resulted in the development of study's intervention, Flourish, which leverages a text messaging-based chatbot to reduce suicide risk following cyberbullying among SGM youth through improving distress tolerance, motivation for help-seeking, and social problem-solving. Current Study Aim: Conduct an open trial to assess the feasibility and acceptability of Flourish among cyberbullied SGM youth, ages 12-17 (N=10). Hypotheses: Feasibility will be evidenced by recruitment/retention rates \> 80% and use of Flourish among \> 70% of SGM youth. At follow-up, adolescents will report improved problem-solving capacity, distress tolerance, and motivation for help-seeking and reduced psychological distress and suicidal ideation compared to baseline.

Suicide Prevention for Sexual and Gender Minority Youth (Randomized Controlled Trial)

The overarching goal of this study is to evaluate a newly-developed suicide prevention program for sexual and gender minority youth and emerging adults. After development of the intervention program, a randomized controlled trial will be conducted to test its preliminary efficacy in lowering the risk for suicide attempts.

Suicide Prevention for Justice Involved Managed Care Subscribers
Description

The goal of this clinical trial is to test the effects of two suicide prevention interventions for individuals released from jail. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does the use of Caring Contacts improve subscriber engagement with healthcare services while reducing suicide-related outcomes? and Will providing training and resources to behavioral health providers improve re-engagement with healthcare services for patients recently released from jail? Participants will include (1) subscribers of a managed care organization (MCO) and (2) behavioral health providers within the MCO system. Interventions include sending subscribers Caring Contacts letters for 6-months following jail release and providing resources and training to behavioral health providers to target healthcare re-engagement and suicide prevention.

A Novel Peer-Delivered Recovery-Focused Suicide Prevention Intervention for Veterans With Serious Mental Illness
Description

Suicide is a major public health concern, particularly among Veterans with serious mental illness (SMI, i.e., psychotic disorders or bipolar disorders). Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) is a well-established evidence-based practice for those with SMI that centers on identifying warning signs of mental illness, developing wellness tools for functional independence, planning for day-to-day effective living within one's community, and building an action plan to create a valued life worth living. This proposed study will refine and pilot SUicide Prevention by Peers Offering Recovery Tactics (SUPPORT), a novel integrated recovery program that is an adaptation of peer-delivered WRAP for Veterans with SMI. In SUPPORT, a Peer Specialist leads a Veteran at increased risk for suicide through recovery planning that is tailored to the Veteran's suicidal experiences with cognitive learning strategies to enhance safety plan recall and improve functioning.

A Digital Game Targeting Suicide Prevention in Adolescents Who Report Substance Misuse
Description

The primary aim of this study is to design and develop a digital game that models the process of a safety planning intervention. To do so, the investigators will explore and better understand peer or student perceptions around potential warning signs, coping strategies, and seeking help among youth who may be at greater risk of suicide due to misuse of substances. Focus groups/interviews with adolescents, young adults, adults, and school-based behavioral health providers will be conducted. Findings will inform the development of a digital intervention to reduce the risk of suicide among adolescents who misuse substances. Once a prototype of the game is developed, play-test focus groups with adolescents, college-aged youth, and school-based mental health providers will be conducted to finalize the intervention. Once finalized, the investigators will conduct a pilot study with 60 adolescents aged 13-19 to assess user experience, acceptability and feasibility of the digital game.

A Comparison of Two Brief Suicide Prevention Interventions Tailored for Youth on the Autism Spectrum
Description

Rates of suicide have increased significantly over the past two decades, particularly among youth. Compared to the general population, autistic people are significantly more likely to think about suicide, attempt suicide, and die by suicide. Autistic individuals have identified suicide prevention as a top research priority; however, little is known about how to best help autistic youth at risk for suicide. The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness, feasibility, and acceptability of two suicide prevention strategies tailored for autistic individuals: the Safety Planning Intervention tailored for Autistic individuals (SPI-A) and SPI-A plus structured follow-up contacts (SPI-A+).

Cognitive Behavioral Suicide Prevention for Psychosis: Aim 2
Description

Investigators will evaluate the feasibility and preliminary effectiveness of modified Cognitive Behavioral Suicide Prevention for psychosis (CBSPp) in comparison to services-as-usual (SAU) in a randomized controlled trial. Investigators will recruit adult clients receiving services at a community mental health (CMH) setting who have a schizophrenia spectrum disorder and recent suicidal thoughts or behaviors within 3 months of screening (n=60). Client participants will be screened, enrolled and randomized to the CBSPp or SAU group. A 4-wave design will include quantitative assessments at baseline (T1), 1-month after baseline (T2), 3-months after baseline (T3), and 5-months after baseline (T4) with in-depth qualitative interviews at T3 for a random sample of adults in the CBSPp group (n=10). Providers (n=12) will be trained to deliver CBSPp and be assessed from T1-T3 to evaluate the implementation process, including in-depth qualitative interviews at T3.

Youth Partners in Care for Suicide Prevention
Description

This randomized comparative effectiveness trial will compare two evidence-based approaches to emergency care for youth ages 13-24 who present to the Emergency Department (ED) with suicidal ideation or behavior. Outcomes will be monitored at baseline and at 3, 6 \& 12 month follow-up assessments.

Neural Mechanisms and Predictors of an Ultra-Brief Suicide Prevention Strategy
Description

The current study is a clinical trial, meaning a research study in which human subjects are prospectively assigned to one or more interventions to evaluate the effects of those interventions on health-related behavioral outcomes. Specifically, male and female adults with current suicidal intent will be randomly assigned to receive either a 1-hour session of crisis response planning (CRP) or a 1-hour session of standard crisis risk management (Treatment as Usual). The effects of both conditions on changes in emotion regulation, behavioral inhibition, stress reactivity, and suicide risk will be evaluated post-intervention and at six-month follow-up. Additional assessments of changes in mood and suicidality will be collected daily during the first 10-days following intervention, and then monthly for a duration of six months. A cohort of healthy controls is included in the study but are not randomized to either treatment condition. The investigators hypothesize the following: 1) A single session of CRP will acutely change suicide risk and 2) Individuals who receive CRP will show sustained improvements in measures of suicidality when compared to individuals who received the Treatment as Usual intervention.
