An Investigational Scan (MRI) in Imaging Patients with Newly-Diagnosed or Recurrent Thymoma
Description

This trial studies the accuracy of a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan in imaging the inside of the chest in patients with thymoma that is newly diagnosed or has come back. An MRI scan may be able to detect if and how far the tumor has spread more accurately than a standard computed tomography (CT) scan.

RATIONALE: Radiofrequency ablation uses high-frequency electric current to kill tumor cells. CT-guided radiofrequency ablation may be effective treatment for lung cancer. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of radiofrequency ablation in treating patients who have refractory or advanced lung cancer.

Description

RATIONALE: Using BG00001 to insert the gene for interferon-beta into a person's pleural cavity may improve the body's ability to fight cancer. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of intrapleural BG00001 in treating patients who have malignant pleural mesothelioma or malignant pleural effusions.
