A Study of the Efficacy and Safety of KUS121 in Participants With Acute Non-Arteritic Central Retinal Artery Occlusion (CRAO)
Description

Central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) is an ophthalmologic emergency which leads to severe and permanent vision loss. There is no evidence-based therapy for CRAO. The objective of this GION study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of KUS121 intravitreal (IVT) injection in participants with acute non-arteritic CRAO.

OCT in Rare Chorioretinal Diseases
Description

This study will evaluate the total blood flow in the retina and choroid (structures in the back of the eye) by Doppler optical coherence tomography (OCT) and OCT angiography. Angiography is mapping of the blood vessels. The purpose of measuring blood flow in the retina and choroid is to 1.) determine if rare diseases in these structures causes a change in blood flow compared to healthy eyes and 2.) find out if areas of changed blood flow line up with areas of damage that appear on conventional testing.

New Non-invasive Modalities for Assessing Retinal Structure and Function
Description

This study investigates a new technology to assess the structure and function inside the eye. Retinal imaging of subjects with inner and outer retinal defects to detect areas of abnormal structure and function compared to other visual function tests.

Philadelphia Telemedicine Glaucoma Detection and Follow-Up Study
Description

The goal is to conduct a 5-year prospective, randomized controlled trial to test an innovative, community-based intervention using posterior and anterior fundus photography of the optic nerve and macula and intraocular eye pressure measurements to improve access and utilization of eye care to detect, treat, and manage high-risk patients with previously undiagnosed glaucoma and other eye diseases. Research shows that subject failure to attend follow-up eye care appointments diminishes any previous benefits of community screenings for glaucoma. Greater adherence to follow-up visits can reduce glaucomatous blindness.

Comparison of Phase-variance Optical Coherence Tomography and Fluorescein Angiography in Retinovascular Imaging
Description

The purpose of this study is to determine whether phase variance optical coherence tomography (PV-OCT), a software-based optical coherence tomography(OCT) image processing technology, can be used to generate angiographic images of the retinochoroidal vasculature that are comparable to those produced by fluorescein angiography (FA), the current gold standard diagnostic test.

Intra-arterial Thrombolysis for Severe Recent Central Retinal Vein Occlusion
Description

Central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) is a common cause of vision loss, typically affecting individuals during the fifth through seventh decade of life. Eyes with severe CRVO have a poor visual prognosis because current treatments address only secondary complications of CRVO without treating its cause. Intra-ophthalmic artery injection of a small dose of t-PA (clot busting medicine), also called intra-ophthalmic artery thrombolysis, may reopen the central retinal vein-and address the cause of the disease- without exposing the subject to the risks of systemic thrombolysis. Our project aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of intra-ophthalmic artery thrombolysis in subjects with CRVO.
