Preoperative Prevalence of Ulnar Neuropathy and Changes in Ulnar Nerve Latency During Surgery
Description

This study is to investigate the incidence of undiagnosed ulnar neuropathy in patients undergoing surgery. The investigators hope to determine if patients with ulnar neuropathy have changes in nerve conduction latency during surgery.

Promoting Healing of Nerves Through Electrical Stimulation
Description

This study is evaluating a new therapeutic use of electrical stimulation to promote nerve healing and improve functional recovery following surgical intervention for nerve compression. A single dose of the therapeutic stimulation is delivered as part of the surgical intervention to address compression of the ulnar nerve at the elbow.

WITHDRAWN
Randomized Trial of Supercharged End-to-Side Anterior Interosseous Nerve Transfer for Severe Cubital Tunnel Syndrome
Description

Functional motor recovery distal to a peripheral nerve lesion is predicated upon time to reinnervation of the motor end plate and the number of regenerate axons that reach the target. Supercharged end-to-side (SETS) transfer of the anterior interosseous nerve to the motor fascicle of the ulnar nerve at the level of the distal forearm has been proposed as an adjunct procedure in severe cubital tunnel syndrome to augment motor recovery of the ulnar-innervated intrinsic muscles. Multiple Level IV Therapeutic studies and a systematic review of Level IV Therapeutic studies have reported favorable clinical and electrodiagnostic outcomes following SETS for cubital tunnel syndrome, with low rates of complications. However, in the absence of controls, it remains unclear what proportion of the observed intrinsic motor recovery is attributable to the SETS procedure. The objective of this randomized trial is to compare the results of ulnar nerve decompression with or without SETS for severe cubital tunnel syndrome.

COMPLETED
Neuromuscular Ultrasound for Focal Neuropathies
Description

The purpose of this study is to determine if a new diagnostic technique, called neuromuscular ultrasound, can improve our ability to diagnose focal nerve disease.

RECRUITING
Clinical Trial for Surgery of the Ulnar Nerve (SUN) at the Elbow
Description

This research is studying two surgical procedures in a large group of people to learn about how well these procedures work as a treatment for ulnar neuropathy at the elbow (UNE). Researchers want to see which surgery is more helpful for people with ulnar neuropathy. This research will determine if one surgery is better than the other to alleviate symptoms.

Nerve Protection Evaluation: Revision Cubital Tunnel Syndrome Decompression
Description

This single-cohort, prospective case series is designed to evaluate and characterize the use of Axoguard HA+ Nerve Protector™ to protect the ulnar nerve in a first revision cubital tunnel decompression procedure. Data on the primary cubital tunnel syndrome decompression, first revision decompression utilizing Axoguard HA+ Nerve Protector, participant-reported pain, motor and sensory functional outcomes, quality of life (QoL) outcomes, and recurrence/revision will be collected. This case series will help to establish the ability of Axoguard HA+ Nerve Protector to provide clinical benefits for patients undergoing a first revision cubital tunnel decompression procedure.
