The purpose of this study is to study the treatment of urgency urinary incontinence (UUI), specifically among women 70 years and older, by comparing reduced versus standard dose of onabotulinumtoxinA (BTX; trade name BOTOX(c)) injection in the bladder.
Overactive bladder (OAB) affects an estimated 16-30% of women in the US and urgency urinary incontinence (UUI) affects 7-11% of women with OAB. It is known that repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) over the supplementary motor area (SMA) can modulate the pelvic floor muscle activity with potential benefits for various urologic conditions. The goal of this study is to assess feasibility of rTMS as a treatment option for OAB with UUI by determining which rTMS frequency is most effective in targeting sensory components of OAB, namely urinary urgency, and also in targeting the brain network known to be involved in OAB.
Urge urinary incontinence (UUI) is a common problem in older women, which vastly reduces quality of life. UUI sufferers frequently report situational triggers (e.g. approaching the front door) leading to urinary urgency and/or leakage, which can be caused by psychological conditioning. This project will test the feasibility, acceptability, and efficacy of brief mindfulness (MI) and non-invasive brain stimulation (transcranial direct current stimulation; tDCS) to reduce reactivity to personal urgency cues and attenuate symptoms of UUI. This is a novel step towards providing personalized efficacious non-pharmacologic treatment for UUI.
Prospective, multi-center, single-arm, seamless phase-pivotal study conducted in participants diagnosed with UUI who have failed or could not tolerate more conservative treatment. The trial will be conducted in two phases. Objective of Phase I: To assess the utilization of the system during the Sacral Nerve Stimulation (SNS) trial period and to help inform the length of hours of daily stimulation to be used in Phase II of the trial. Objective of Phase II: To assess the safety and efficacy of the Neuspera SNS System at 6-months for the primary efficacy endpoint and at 12 months for secondary safety and efficacy endpoints.
The ARTISAN-SNM study is designed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Axonics Sacral Neuromodulation System as an aid in the treatment of the symptoms of urinary urgency incontinence (UUI) in patients who have failed or could not tolerate more conservative treatments.
This is a prospective, randomized, controlled, multi-center, study in which 150 evaluable subjects will be randomized 1:1 to receive either a Protect CAN-Stim or SNS InterStim® system. Subjects from both groups will immediately start with therapy. The primary endpoint is a ≥ 50% reduction in number of incontinence episodes associated with urgency at the 3-month visit, with additional measurements assessed at 14 days, 1, 6, 9 and 12-months.
This study is for women diagnosed with urinary urgency incontinence (UUI) or overactive bladder (OAB). Some patients continue to have symptoms even while taking medication for OAB. The purpose of this study is to estimate the number of women who respond to a medication called mirabegron and estimate change in symptom severity over 12 weeks of therapy. A secondary goal is to correlate the female urinary microbiome (FUM) with response to treatment and change in symptom severity over 12 weeks of therapy.
Urgency Incontinence (where the bladder muscles contract suddenly, causing an immediate urge to urinate that is difficult to prevent) is commonly experienced in patients with overactive bladder. New findings have discovered that urgency incontinence may be connected to the interactions of certain regions of the brain and the bladder. Although this is a common problem, researched still do not know how these interactions impact the process of urgency incontinence. Furthermore, there is preliminary data to suggest that interventions such as Mindful-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) can potentially be used as therapy for UI. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact MBSR training on UI symptoms, quality of life, and anxiety measures.

This double-blind randomized controlled trial seeks to find a better treatment for women with mixed urinary incontinence (both stress and urgency incontinence). The primary aim is to determine whether midurethral sling surgery combined with injections of onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox®) into the detrusor muscle of the bladder improves symptoms of mixed urinary incontinence better than sling surgery alone.
We propose to conduct a rigorous, 12-week, randomized controlled trial of two relaxation therapies in 160 ambulatory women who report an average of at least 3 urgency-associated voiding or incontinence episodes per day. Participants will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio to: 1) practice slowing their resting respiratory rate to 5 to 10 breaths per minute for at least 15 minutes/day at home using a portable guided-breathing device; or 2) use an identical-appearing device that plays relaxing music while monitoring their spontaneous breathing pattern. We do not know if either of the two types of relaxation therapies is effective in treating OAB. All women will also receive a usual care pamphlet providing basic information about other traditional self-management strategies for OAB.

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare treatment outcomes between an oral medication (beta agonist) versus onabotulinumtoxinA injections in women with urgency urinary incontinence (UUI). Participants will be randomly selected to receive one of the two treatments. The primary outcome measure will be at 3 months, and women will be followed for a total of 12 months. Based on patient expert input, there are 2 primary outcomes: Treatment satisfaction and urinary symptom severity.
Injection of intradetrusor OnabotulinumtoxinA (BTX-A) is a highly efficacious therapy with a reliable safety profile and demonstrable improvements in subjective and objective measures for overactive bladder (OAB) symptom control. This procedure can be performed in the office with an evidence-based standard dosing of 100 units for idiopathic OAB. This is a single-blinded, randomized control trial is to evaluate and optimize the technique for performing intradetrusor injections of BTX-A for idiopathic OAB. This trial proposes two different reconstitution and injection schema to study patient-centered outcomes related to procedural discomfort and symptom relief.
The purpose of this prospective study is to examine the safety and efficacy of high intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology for the treatment of women with stress urinary incontinence (SUI), urge incontinence (UI) and mixed stress urinary and urge incontinence (MUI), looking at any potential sexual health benefits that may be concomitantly achieved from this treatment.
The purpose of this study was to see if adding a new type of medication recently approved to treat overactive bladder (mirabegron) to an antimuscarinic treatment (solifenacin) would be more effective in controlling incontinence than when using the antimuscarinic treatment alone.

A prospective, multicenter, single-arm study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the eCoin® implanted tibial nerve stimulator in subjects with urgency urinary incontinence (UUI).
This is a single-center, double-blinded, randomized controlled trial evaluating the efficacy of TTNS versus a sham intervention. Both interventions will be performed by participants in their homes after standardized instruction. The primary outcome is a comparison of the mean change in OAB-q scores before and after treatment between the intervention and control groups. Changes in the number of urgency incontinence episodes and an estimation of cost effectiveness will additionally be measured. Intention to treat analysis will be performed.
The overall objective of this study is to determine if a reduced injection site protocol (5 injection sites) using an equivalent amount of Botox provides comparable relief of Urgency Urinary Incontinence (UUI) symptoms compared to the standard injection site protocol (15-20 injection sites). Our central hypothesis is that the 5-site injection protocol is non-inferior in terms of relief of UUI symptoms compared to the standard injection site protocol, measured by a non-inferior reduction in the number of UUI episodes per day.
This is a randomized double-blind crossover trial of trospium and placebo in women with urgency urinary incontinence, with evaluation (history, physical, incontinence evaluation and brain MRI) at baseline, and after each course of therapy. The investigators will evaluate functional brain changes in relation to bladder improvement in order to improve our knowledge of the brain's role in the continence mechanism.
Urinary incontinence (UI) is a very common condition affecting women of all ages. The objective of this pilot study is to better understand the urinary microbiome and associated inflammatory markers in blood and urine in women with urgency UI. The study will assess how inflammation may affect response to standard of care anticholinergic medication treatment for urgency urinary incontinence.
This is a mixed methods study to compare group medical visits (GMVs) to usual care for Spanish speaking Latina women with urgency urinary incontinence. Patients will be randomized to GMVs and to usual care. At the conclusion of each series of GMVs we will hold a focus group for participants.The primary outcome will be improvement in urgency urinary incontinence symptoms.
This trial is a prospective, multicenter, single-arm study of the safety and effectiveness of eCoinTM tibial nerve stimulation in subjects having overactive bladder (OAB) with urgency urinary incontinence (UUI). The study will evaluate changes from baseline in OAB symptoms as measured by voiding diaries and patient reported-outcomes through 48 weeks of eCoinTM therapy or 52 weeks of implantation.
The purpose of this pivotal study is to illustrate the safety and effectiveness of the StimGuard Sacral Nerve Stimulation (SNS) System in the treatment refractory urge incontinence. This is a prospective, randomized, controlled, multi-center, study in which 92 subjects will receive a StimGuard SNS System.
This study is randomized controlled trial in which urgency incontinent women (approximately 150-160) will be randomized to hypnotherapy or pharmacotherapy and evaluated at months 2, 6 \&12 Hypotheses: Among patients with urgency urinary incontinence (UUI), hypnotherapy will be non-inferior pharmacotherapy in diminishing UUI episodes. Hypnotherapy may be superior or may not differ from pharmacotherapy in diminishing symptoms or quality of life based on validated questionnaires and/or other diary parameters.

Urgency urinary incontinence (UUI) is common in older people and vastly reduces quality of life, yet the cause and mechanism of disease are not well understood. This study will investigate the role of adding behavioral sleep intervention to the standard pharmacotherapy in treatment of UUI among older adults, and the brain mechanisms involved in continence by evaluating brain changes. This will expand the current knowledge of how the sleep affects bladder control, and better characterize the brain mechanisms in maintaining continence.
