This is a longitudinal study to determine the influence of the menopause transition on autonomic and vascular function. PI Keller-Ross has published data demonstrating that postmenopausal females have greater sympathetic neural reactivity during a stressor compared with age-matched males and younger females and males. A paucity of literature exists, however, on the role of the menopause transition in autonomic function because the majority of experimental studies on menopause physiology are cross-sectional and/or focused on older, postmenopausal females . The influence of age on HTN is robust, whereas the effects of menopause are still unclear. Preliminary data demonstrate a clear association between age and sympathetic activity in females; how the transition through menopause influences these relations, however, remains unknown. The study will enroll 80 midlife (45-55 years of age) females to measure longitudinally the trajectory of autonomic and vascular function during the transition through menopause. The study hypothesizes that through the menopause transition, an increase in sympathetic activity and an impaired baroreflex sensitivity and endothelial function will emerge.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether growth hormone replacement therapy (GHRT) is effective versus placebo in the improvement of Quality of Life in patients with adult growth hormone deficiency (AGHD) and mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI).

The goal of this study is to further characterise the potential long-term safety risks of lonapegsomatropin in patients treated with lonapegsomatropin under real-world conditions in the post-marketing setting.
This is a randomized, placebo-controlled, cross-over study with 4 arms. Healthy and GH deficient adults ages 18-45 years will be studied. Arms will consist of 21-day treatment periods and be separated by 8-week washout periods. Subjects will receive, in random order: i) GH alone, ii) GH with liraglutide, iii) liraglutide alone and iv) placebo. Each phase of the study will consist of a 7-day baseline period including 2 days of testing and 21 days on therapy with visits on days 2, 7, 14 and 21. Testing before, during and at the completion of each arm will include blood sampling and assessments of insulin resistance, energy expenditure and body composition.
The goal of the GWIT Study is to assess whether growth hormone replacement therapy is a safe and effective treatment for veterans with Gulf War Illness (GWI) and adult growth hormone deficiency (AGHD). The main questions the study aims to answer are: 1. Is growth hormone effective at reducing fat in the trunk of the body and symptoms of GWI among veterans with GWI and growth hormone deficiency? 2. Do the results of the study suggest there is merit in pursuing a larger trial to examine the efficacy of growth hormone as a treatment for growth hormone deficiency among veterans with Gulf War Illness? To determine eligibility for the study, veterans will be asked to complete several assessments including questionnaires, blood tests, and a scan of the brain. Participants who qualify for the study will receive recombinant human growth hormone for 6-months. A body composition scan will be performed at Day1, Day 90, and Day 180 of the intervention. Questionnaires and cognitive tests will also be collected before and after the trial.
This pilot study will determine the feasibility of implementing a combinatory rehabilitation strategy involving testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) with locomotor training (LT; walking on a treadmill with assistance and overground walking) in men with testosterone deficiency and walking dysfunction after incomplete or complete spinal cord injury. The investigators hypothesize that LT+TRT treatment will improve muscle size and bone mineral density in men with low T and ambulatory dysfunction after incomplete or complete SCI, along with muscle fundtion and walking recovery in men with T low and ambulatory dysfunction ater incomplete SCI.

We, the researchers, are following the natural history of Albright hereditary osteodystrophy. We have found that growth hormone deficiency is very common in patients with pseudohypoparathyroidism type 1A, which falls under the broader condition termed Albright hereditary osteodystrophy. Patients with pseudohypoparathyroidism type 1A typically are short and obese. Some of these patients are not short during childhood, but due to a combination of factors, they end up short as adults. We are evaluating the effect of growth hormone treatment in those patients with pseudohypoparathyroidism type 1A who are found to be growth hormone deficient (under R01 FD002568, IND 67148, which ended); those who are growth hormone sufficient and were found to have a positive clinical response to growth hormone in a prior clinical trial (under R01 FD00FD003409, IND 67148, which ended); or those who meet the criteria of idiopathic short stature or SGA. We are also evaluating neurocognitive and psychosocial functioning in participants with AHO in order to determine the specific impairments that are most common in the condition and to determine the best approach toward management. The Myelin Disorders Biorepository Project (MDBP) seeks to collect and analyze clinical data and biological samples from leukodystrophy patients worldwide to support ongoing and future research projects. The MDBP is one of the world's largest leukodystrophy biorepositories, having enrolled nearly 2,000 affected individuals since it was launched over a decade ago. Researchers working in the biorepository hope to use these materials to uncover new genetic etiologies for various leukodystrophies, develop biomarkers for use in future clinical trials, and better understand the natural history of these disorders. The knowledge gained from these efforts may help improve the diagnostic tools and treatment options available to patients in the future.
The purpose of this basket study in children with Turner syndrome, SHOX deficiency, and Noonan syndrome is to evaluate the effect of 3 doses of vosoritide versus hGH on growth as measured by AGV after 6 months of treatment. The long-term efficacy and safety of vosoritide at the therapeutic dose will be evaluated up to FAH.
