Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

This study will test an exercise intervention (E-ICD) following an implantable cardioverter defibrillator.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:18 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * ICD implantation for primary or secondary prevention of sudden cardiac arrest, -ability to read, speak and write English,-
  2. * access to a reliable phone for 6 months after study entry,
  3. * able to ambulate without assist devices for at least 5-10 minutes/day
  4. * greater than 18 years of age.
  1. * current diagnosis of serious mental disorder,
  2. * regular non-medical use of illicit drugs (opiates, cocaine, amphetamines, etc.), -unstable angina, myocardial infarction, ICD shock or heart surgery within previous 3 months
  3. * pregnancy
  4. * concurrent participation in an exercise program \> 5 days/week.
