Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

This study is designed to examine the efficacy of a brief intervention plus a cognitive-behavioral intervention compared to brief intervention alone to address unhealthy alcohol use and comorbid mental health symptoms to improve HIV outcomes among people living with HIV in Alabama.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:18 Years to 99 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * 18 years of age or older
  2. * Living with HIV infection
  3. * Receiving HIV care at 1 of 4 participating AQMG sites (Alabama Quality Management Group sites - i.e. Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program-funded community clinics in Alabama)
  4. * Unhealthy alcohol use documented on the AUDIT survey delivered via PRO (i.e. 4 or greater points for women and greater than 8 points for men).
  1. * Inability to use a mobile phone due to cognitive or physical impairments
  2. * Unable to speak sufficient English to provide informed consent and receive cognitive behavioral therapy
  3. * Active suicidality or psychosis
  4. * Risk for acute alcohol withdrawal or seizures
