Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

The purpose of this study is evaluate the effectiveness of PriCARE/CARIÑO to reduce child maltreatment, improve parent-child interactions, and reduce harsh/neglectful parenting, parent stress, and child behaviors.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:18 Months to 99 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:Yes
Standard Ages:CHILD, ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Caregiver is age 18 years or older
  2. * Caregiver is English or Spanish Speaking
  3. * Caregiver is legal guardian of child subject
  4. * Caregiver provides informed consent
  5. * Caregiver is available to attend scheduled times of PriCARE/CARIÑO groups
  6. * Caregiver has cellular phone with text messaging capacity
  7. * Caregiver has appropriate technological tools and access to participate in virtual intervention
  8. * Child is between 18 months and 6 years old
  9. * Child receives care at participating primary care center
  10. * Child has Medicaid/Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)/no insurance
  11. * Child lives in North Carolina or Philadelphia
  1. * Caregiver or another caregiver in the household has previously participated in PriCARE/CARIÑO
  2. * Child has a cognitive functioning below 2-year-old level, as determined by the screening questions and/or the referring clinician
  3. * Child has a diagnosis of autism
  4. * Child is receiving individual behavioral health treatment or medication for a behavioral health problem
