Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

The purpose of this randomized controlled trial is to establish the effectiveness of a culturally targeted and individually tailored behavioral intervention to promote maternal glucose metabolism in African American women.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:18 Years to 40 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:FEMALE
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * African American pregnant woman.
  2. * Women between 16 and 22 GWs.
  3. * Overweight or obese - pregravid Body Mass Index \>25.0 kg/m2.
  4. * Singleton gestation.
  5. * Established prenatal care at The University of Illinois Hospital \& Health Sciences.
  6. * System Obstetric (UIHHSS' OB) clinics. Able to understand, speak and write in English.
  1. * Multiple gestations.
  2. * Night-shift work.
  3. * Diagnosed sleep disorders.
  4. * Known fetal chromosomal or anatomical abnormalities.
  5. * Diagnosed mood disorders.
  6. * Gestational diabetes in early pregnancy.
  7. * Glycated Hemoglobin (HbA1c) ≥ 6.5%.
  8. * Hypoglycemic medications.
  9. * Stimulant medication or taking a sleeping aid.
  10. * Active drug abuse/excessive alcohol intake.
