GOLD: Brief Intervention to Reduce Anxiety and Promote Resilience in Families of Youth With Cancer

Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

The purpose of this study is to examine a psychotherapeutic and psycho-educational intervention offered in virtual settings to caregivers of youth with cancer. Human subjects must be used because they are the object of the intervention.

Participation Criteria

Standard Ages:CHILD, ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. Age 18 years or older
  2. Willing and able to provide informed consent
  3. Able to understand and follow study procedures
  4. Stable medical condition
  1. * Child (0-17yrs) with recent (\<12 mo) cancer diagnosis
  2. * Fluent in English
  3. * Consent to research
  4. * Lack of proficiency in written and spoken English
  5. * Parent is under age 18
  6. * Active Suicidal Ideation
  7. * Child with cancer does not provide assent
