This is a randomized trial comparing open retromuscular ventral hernia repair to robotic retromuscular ventral hernia repair.

Participation Criteria

Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:Yes
Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * 18 years and older
  2. * 7 cm to 15 cm wide hernia midline defects
  3. * BMI less than or equal to 45
  4. * Patient deemed both an open and robotic candidate by operating surgeon
  1. * 17 years old or younger
  2. * prisoners
  3. * pregnant patients
  4. * Emergent patients
  5. * BMI greater than 45
  6. * Hernia defects less than 7 cm or greater than 15 cm in width
